About Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds lets players race through land, sea, air and space, using Travel Rings to jump between dimensions mid‑race. Each race features a surprise on the second lap, then returns to the original track for a changed final lap.

The game offers solo, co‑op and online play for up to twelve racers, with a roster of 23 Sonic‑universe characters, 45 vehicles, 70 gadgets and a variety of modes ranging from Grand Prix to custom Race Park matches.

01 / THE GUIDE

Travel Rings and CrossWorld Courses

Travel Rings appear on the second lap and transport racers to one of fifteen CrossWorld courses, each with its own rules and challenges. After completing the CrossWorld lap, racers return to the original track for the final lap, where the environment has altered.

These transitions guarantee that no two races feel identical, as the surprise courses and rule changes differ each time a Travel Ring is used.

  • Watch the Travel Ring cue early to anticipate the upcoming rule shift.
  • Practice both the base and CrossWorld versions of a track to adapt quickly.

Vehicle Customisation and Gadgets

Players can select from over 45 original vehicles and more than 70 gadgets that modify movement boost efficiency, item chance, recovery time and other stats. Vehicles belong to five classes—Speed, Acceleration, Handling, Power and Boost—allowing further tuning via front, rear and tire parts.

Custom paint jobs, decals and other visual options let racers personalise their machines while the gadget loadout defines performance.

  • Balance boost efficiency with item chance for a versatile setup.
  • Experiment with different class combinations to find a comfortable handling feel.

All 23 Sonic characters interact through this system, providing varied encounters each match.

  • Focus on overtaking the Rival early to secure the bonus reward.
  • Observe the Rival’s behavior for clues on their preferred racing line.
