About SimplePlanes 2
SimplePlanes 2 expands the original aircraft‑building experience with new wing and fuselage parts, real NACA airfoil profiles, and a suite of procedural power‑train components that let you create cars, forklifts, propeller planes and missiles. The editor also adds a paint tool for colour and texture, plus detailed engine tuning.
The game features a 787 km² Archipelago world with trees, roads, rivers, airports and a race track, plus water physics for seaplanes. Multiplayer supports up to nine other players in public lobbies and larger private sessions, offering races, combat and cooperative activities, while a library of over a million community crafts is available.

Building Tools
The editor provides enhanced wing and fuselage parts that let you reshape airfoils using real NACA profiles and craft endless hull shapes. A new paint tool lets you apply colour and texture to any craft, helping you keep experimental builds distinct.
Procedural power‑train parts broaden creation beyond aircraft, allowing cars, forklifts, propeller planes and missiles with detailed physics. Engine customization lets you adjust size, cylinder count and transmission to match your performance goals.
- Experiment with several NACA profiles to see how wing shape changes lift and stall behaviour.
- Apply paint early so you can quickly identify which version of a craft you are testing.

Multiplayer Modes
Public multiplayer lobbies host up to nine players, while private lobbies can accommodate more participants. In these sessions you can race, engage in combat, or cooperate, using the same crafts you build in single‑player.
The playable mascot Major Chad appears in multiplayer, and activities include racing on the built‑in track and firing custom missiles at opponents, giving several ways to test your creations against other players.
- Create a private lobby first to fine‑tune a new craft without affecting public matches.
- Try both racing and combat runs to evaluate speed and durability of the same design.

World Exploration
The SimplePlanes Archipelago spans 787 km² and includes trees, roads, rivers, airports and a race track. New water graphics and physics let you navigate seas, while 330 km of roads support ground vehicles.
Both aerial and ground crafts can traverse the environment, encouraging designs that suit land, sea or air travel. Vetusta City and more than 40 hidden crafts scattered across the map add points of interest for explorers.
- Test seaplane designs on water to verify buoyancy before full flight tests.
- Visit Vetusta City to see how urban terrain influences flight paths.

Craft Library
Over a million community‑made crafts are downloadable for free, including creations from SimplePlanes 1. You can load, tune and reverse‑engineer these designs, and more than 40 hidden crafts are scattered around the map.
Backwards compatibility lets you import older crafts, though the game cannot guarantee that every legacy behaviour will match the original implementation.
- Download a few popular community crafts to study part combinations and performance.
- Search for hidden crafts as a source of unique design ideas.

Input Support
SimplePlanes 2 accepts mouse/keyboard, controller and HOTAS devices, allowing any supported input method for building and flying. The game invites you to grab your input device of choice and fly.
This flexibility lets you choose the setup that feels most comfortable for design work or flight control, whether you prefer precise mouse aiming or analog‑stick handling.
- Try a controller if mouse aiming feels tiring during extended flight sessions.
- Use a HOTAS for a more immersive experience when testing complex power‑train setups.
