About Shelldiver

Shelldiver is an incremental single‑player adventure where you pilot a turtle‑crew submarine, chase jellyfish with a bubble gun, and sell them at a tiny shop. The jellyfish you capture generate the primary resource for buying upgrades and expanding your business.

You also use a laser blaster to break down floating debris, crystals and mushrooms for parts that improve your submarine, tools and skill tree. Exploring biomes such as volcanic waters and crystal caverns adds new jellyfish types and resources, while oxygen must be monitored throughout each dive.

01 / THE GUIDE

Gameplay Loop

Players fire a bubble gun to chase and capture jellyfish, each described with unique traits like electric or explosive behavior. Captured jellyfish are sold at the shop, turning them into money for upgrades.

A laser blaster lets players dismantle human trash, crystal rocks, mushrooms and other components found near the ocean floor. Those parts are then spent on submarine and tool upgrades.

  • Focus on jellyfish that sell for higher amounts to speed up early upgrades.
  • Balance time between jellyfish hunting and part collection to keep both income streams active.

02 / THE GUIDE

Resources

Jellyfish serve as the main currency; each type provides a different monetary value when sold. The game also places floating resources such as human trash, crystal rocks and mushrooms that can be harvested for parts.

Collected parts are required for upgrades to the submarine, tools and other equipment, influencing capabilities like oxygen capacity and shop size.

  • Gather a mix of jellyfish and parts each session to avoid running out of either resource.
  • Watch for rare jellyfish that may yield a larger payout when sold.

Upgrades & Skill Tree

Progress unlocks a large branching skill tree where players can choose perks that affect oxygen, shop size and other expedition aspects. Money earned from jellyfish sales and parts is spent on these upgrades.

Submarine enhancements improve depth reach and collection speed, while tool upgrades refine bubble‑gun and laser efficiency.

  • Early upgrades to oxygen and collection speed make deeper biomes more accessible.
  • Experiment with different perk paths to see which benefits your preferred activities.

Biomes & Exploration

Players unlock and explore various unique biomes, including volcanic waters and crystalline caverns, each offering distinct depths and resources. New jellyfish types and part materials appear in these environments.

Depth limits and resource availability vary by biome, encouraging players to monitor oxygen and plan dives according to their current upgrades.

  • Visit biomes after upgrading oxygen to reach their deeper zones safely.
  • Survey each biome for exclusive jellyfish before moving on to another area.
