About Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew
Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew is a real‑time stealth strategy game set in a fantastical Caribbean during the Golden Age of Piracy. Players command an undead pirate crew from a ghost ship, using blades and sorcery to oppose the Inquisition’s hunt for a powerful artifact.
The campaign is non‑linear: eight distinct crew members can be revived in any order, and missions span whole islands. Players choose landing and departure points for each mission, shaping how they approach objectives and manage the limited crew slots.

Crew Recruitment & Abilities
Eight undead crew members await revival, each equipped with a unique supernatural power and personality. Recruiting a specific member determines which movement options, combat styles, and narrative moments become accessible during a mission.
Abilities range from Gaëlle’s magical cannon that launches allies over obstacles to Mr. Mercury’s capacity to move beneath terrain. The game encourages combining powers, timing their use, and adapting to mission limits on crew size.
- Experiment with different pairings to discover unexpected combos.
- Consider a crew member’s limitation when the mission caps the number of allies you can take ashore.

Enemy Types & Strategies
The Inquisition fields varied foes, from low‑level footmen to snipers and magically linked pairs that must be eliminated together. Their differing strengths require adaptable tactics such as distraction, ranged attacks, or synchronized kills.
Observing enemy movement and lines of sight is essential; abilities like Suledie’s cover creation can generate temporary concealment, enabling passage or silent elimination of targets.
- Map enemy sight lines early to plan safe routes.
- Use environment‑altering abilities to create cover where none exists.

Ship as Hub & Side Content
Between missions the ghost ship serves as a base where crew members’ personal stories and side‑quests are presented. Engaging with these elements deepens narrative context and can influence later mission options.
The ship also functions as a planning area, allowing players to review objectives, adjust crew composition, and prepare for the next island sortie.
- Talk to each crew member to uncover optional quests.
- Use the planning space to experiment with different crew combos.
