About SENRAN KAGURA SHINOVI VERSUS
SENRAN KAGURA SHINOVI VERSUS continues the rivalry that began in SENRAN KAGURA Burst, adding the underground Homura Crimson Squad and the new Gessen Girls’ Academy to the conflict. The story is told from four rival shinobi schools, each presenting its own tragedy, heroism and partial nudity as they vie to be the last squad standing.
The game is a 3‑D brawler for Windows PC that runs in HD at 60 fps and includes all DLC from the original PlayStation®/Vita release. Players can choose from more than twenty fighters, each with a unique weapon and special moves, and compete online in up to four‑player battle‑royale modes.
01 / THE GUIDE
Four‑Perspective Story
The narrative is presented from the viewpoints of the four rival shinobi schools, giving background on each group's motivations, relationships and hobbies. Original Japanese voice‑overs with English subtitles convey each girl’s distinct personality, allowing players to experience the conflict from multiple angles.
By rotating through the four schools, the game reveals how each faction interprets the same events differently, highlighting themes of tragedy, heroism and personal ambition. This structure lets players compare the schools’ goals and understand why they clash.
- Note how each school’s dialogue reveals its unique motivations.
- Observe the contrast between Japanese voice‑overs and English subtitles for added nuance.

20+ Unique Fighters
More than twenty shinobi are playable, and each character wields a distinct weapon and possesses her own techniques. Special Ninja Arts can be activated during combat to change costumes and provide visual power‑up cues.
Because each fighter’s style influences combo construction, players encounter varied approaches to mid‑air and ground attacks. Switching between characters demonstrates how weapon choice and techniques affect battle flow.
- Try a ranged weapon and a melee weapon to see how combo timing differs.
- Watch the costume change when a Ninja Art is used for visual feedback.

Four‑Player Battle Royale
Up to four players can compete online in three distinct modes: classic Death Match, Strip Battle, and Understorm. Each mode defines its own win condition, whether it is eliminating opponents, removing clothing, or collecting falling undergarments.
The presence of multiple win conditions encourages players to adapt their tactics. For example, Strip Battle emphasizes targeting opponents with intact outfits, while Understorm focuses on positioning to gather the most falling items.
- In Strip Battle, prioritize opponents whose outfits are still largely intact.
- During Understorm, stay near the center of the falling item zone to increase collection chances.

Clothing Damage System
Damage is shown by the gradual deterioration of each girl’s outfit, providing a visual indicator of how much harm a fighter has taken. This visual cue is directly tied to the Strip Battle mode, where clothing loss determines victory.
The outfit changes are striking, and they give players an immediate sense of battle intensity without relying on traditional health bars. Observing the rate of deterioration can help decide when to focus on a particular opponent.
- Watch the speed of outfit wear to gauge an opponent’s remaining health.
- Use visual cues to decide whether to continue attacking or switch targets.
