About Sector Space
Sector Space is a cozy top‑down single‑player sandbox set in a procedurally generated galaxy. Hundreds of star systems and points of interest fill a grid of sectors that players can traverse continuously or via jump drives, gates, and wormholes.
Players pilot a personal ship, can command up to six fleet vessels, level up, and acquire gear of increasing tier. Resources are renewable, allowing long‑term play on a single world while trading, crafting, and station building provide the main loop of progression.

Procedural Galaxy & Sectors
Each world file represents a single galaxy generated with hundreds of star systems. The galaxy is divided into a grid where each cell, called a sector, may contain an asteroid field, nebula, or star system. Movement between sectors is seamless; larger jumps are possible through jump drives, gates, and wormholes, and some sectors host tougher enemies and better loot.
- Explore both nearby and distant sectors to discover unique locations that appear in every generated galaxy.
- Use jump drives for faster travel when you have mapped the destination sector.

Ship & Fleet Classes
Players choose a character class, known as a profession, which determines the personal ship and up to six fleet ships. As the character levels up, secondary skills can be selected to specialize and improve the ship. Skills automatically transfer to fleet ships at a reduced rate based on their level, allowing coordinated upgrades across the whole fleet.
- Select secondary skills that complement the strengths of your fleet composition.
- Consider the skill reduction factor when planning upgrades for lower‑level fleet ships.

Gear & Tier Progression
Progression is driven by acquiring gear and ships of higher tier levels. Hundreds of items exist, each capable of receiving modifiers that enhance their function. Combat areas and anomalous regions feature more challenging enemies and better item drops, supporting gear acquisition and leveling.
- Prioritize gear with modifiers that match your chosen secondary skills.
- Visit combat zones after upgrading to test the effectiveness of new tier items.

Resource Gathering & Crafting
Players can mine asteroids, refine ore into pure elements, and craft components used to build items and ships. Additional resources are extractable from planets and colonies. Crafting items also grants experience, feeding back into the levelling loop alongside combat and exploration.
- Focus on refining ore to pure elements before crafting to maximize component yield.
- Balance mining with combat to keep experience gains steady.

Trading & Economy
Item prices vary by region and can fluctuate over time, making trading between stations a viable source of credits. NPC stations can be used to progress, and trading between stations is a viable source of credits. Monitoring price changes across sectors helps identify profitable trade routes and supports fleet upgrades.
- Track price trends at multiple stations before committing to large trades.
- Use your fleet to transport goods between high‑price and low‑price sectors for profit.
