About Scramble: Battle of Britain
Scramble: Battle of Britain puts players in a turn‑based dogfighting arena set over the 1940 summer skies. The game splits each encounter into Planning, Simulation, and Review phases, letting squads execute classic fighter tactics without demanding fast reflexes. Players command RAF or Luftwaffe pilots, manage aircraft damage and pilot fatigue, and can replay battles frame‑by‑frame using built‑in camera tools. Early Access offers a Squadron Leader mode with twelve pilots and a fast‑track Dogfight Generator for instant missions.
01 / THE GUIDE
Turn Structure
Each turn consists of three distinct phases. In Planning, you gain situational awareness and set maneuvers for each aircraft. The Simulation phase then resolves those orders in real‑time, showing bullets, damage and aircraft behavior.
After the clash, the Review phase lets you scrub the action frame‑by‑frame, assess damage to planes and pilots, and observe outcomes from any camera angle.
- Use the diorama view in Planning to see how each aircraft fits into the wider battlespace.
- During Review, pause at moments of heavy damage to understand which components were hit.
02 / THE GUIDE
Aircraft Simulation
Planes are modeled down to subcomponents such as fuel tanks, radiators, engines, ailerons and elevators. Bullets can puncture these parts, causing leaks, fires or loss of control.
Pilots also suffer fatigue and can black out, making both mechanical and human factors crucial to survival and victory.
- Watch for engine leaks early; they can force a premature landing.
- Notice when ailerons are damaged, as it will drastically affect turning ability.

Squadron Leader Mode
In Early Access, Squadron Leader lets you command an RAF squadron of twelve pilots over thirty days of channel interceptions. Each pilot has unique traits that affect combat performance.
Pilots can tire, become injured, or be killed, requiring you to balance squad health against overall attrition.
- Rotate pilots with lower fatigue to keep the squad effective.
- Track each pilot’s traits to assign them to roles that match their strengths.

Dogfight Generator
The generator creates instant missions for up to twelve aircraft, letting you choose either the RAF or the Luftwaffe. Match replays are saveable and can be relived with cinematic tools.
This mode is ideal for quick skirmishes or testing new tactics without the longer campaign structure.
- Experiment with both sides to learn differing aircraft capabilities.
- Save replays to review and share especially dramatic engagements.

Available Aircraft
Current RAF fighters include the Supermarine Spitfire and Hawker Hurricane. Luftwaffe options are the Messerschmitt 109, Messerschmitt 110, and bombers such as the Junkers 87 “Stuka” and Dornier 17.
Future updates plan to add aircraft like the Bristol Blenheim, Junkers 88 and Heinkel 111.
- Compare Spitfire climb rates with Hurricane turn performance to pick the right plane for your tactic.
- Note that bombers have larger profiles, making them easier targets for well‑placed shots.
