About Runeveil
Runeveil is a roguelike deck‑builder that asks you to play an entire hand of runes at once, making the order of the sequence the central tactical decision. You choose one of seven elemental Wizards and travel through seven distinct Arenas ruled by Sin Kings.
The game mixes puzzle‑like sequence combat with a large pool of runes, artifacts, potions and enchantments. Progression is layered: each run can unlock new cards, while wizard‑specific skill trees and a global talent tree grow across all runs.
01 / THE GUIDE
Sequence‑Based Combat
Combat in Runeveil is described as a puzzle of destruction: you place every rune in your hand and decide the exact order they will trigger. The chosen sequence creates combos that can dramatically increase damage, turning the hand into a single, ordered attack.
Because the order matters, planning ahead is essential. Each hand becomes a miniature puzzle where placement determines the outcome, rather than relying on individual card effects that resolve independently.
- Test simple sequences early to see which runes naturally chain together.
- Track which orders produce the biggest damage spikes and reuse those patterns.

Elemental Wizards
Runeveil offers seven Wizards, each tied to an element such as Nature, Fire, Water or Arcane. Every Wizard brings unique mechanics and a distinct playstyle to the sequence battles, shaping how runes interact during combat.
Early Access includes four playable Wizards, and each can be leveled to unlock a personal skill tree. These skill trees add new options that further differentiate each Wizard’s strategic possibilities.
- Experiment with each available Wizard to discover which elemental mechanics suit your sequencing preferences.
- Focus early runs on one Wizard’s skill tree to build a consistent strategic foundation.

Seven Unique Arenas
The core challenge consists of seven Arenas, each representing a kingdom with its own enemy types, mini‑bosses and a final Sin King. Completing an Arena unlocks higher Ascension levels that add tougher modifiers and stronger foes.
Procedurally generated trials are used within each Arena, ensuring that no two runs feel identical and supporting the claim of “insane replayability.”
- Observe enemy patterns in each Arena; they often hint at optimal rune sequences.
- If an Arena feels overwhelming, lower the difficulty setting to experiment with new combos.

Runes, Artifacts, and Potions
Beyond the 200+ runes, Runeveil includes over 100 artifacts and more than 50 potions, scrolls and enhancements. These items can stack multipliers, create loops, and fundamentally change how runes interact during a run.
Players can view potential fight rewards before a battle, allowing them to plan deck construction from the start of a run and target specific items that fit their strategy.
- Prioritize artifacts that boost rune synergy early on; they amplify the impact of sequencing.
- Use potions that modify rune behavior to explore unconventional combo possibilities.

Meta‑Progression Systems
Runeveil features two layers of progression: Wizard Evolution, where each Wizard’s skill tree unlocks new abilities, and a Global Meta‑Progression talent tree that accrues experience across all runs, unlocking benefits that apply to every character.
Each run can also reveal unlockable runes and artifacts, expanding the card pool and item roster. This dual system encourages both short‑term tactical planning and long‑term strategic growth.
- Balance investment between wizard‑specific skills and the global talent tree to keep options flexible.
- Track which unlocks improve your preferred sequencing style and prioritize those in future runs.
