About Romero's Aftermath
Romero's Aftermath drops players into a massive sandbox MMO where forests, deserts, and meadows hide relentless zombies. Players scavenge cities, farms, military bases, abandoned outposts and countless encampments for guns, supplies, and crafting components, storing everything in a Global Inventory or hidden stash boxes.
Choose a role—civilian, trader, protector, bandit, or any mix—then build and defend a personal shelter, grow crops, and craft gear using over forty recipes. Hundreds of visual cosmetics let you swap headwear, outfits, and weapon skins at any time, while PvP and PvE servers cater to both ruthless and casual play.
01 / THE GUIDE
Crafting System
Scavenged junk can be broken down into core components, which are then combined using unlocked recipes. The game offers more than 40 crafting formulas that let you produce weapons, silencers, armor, medical supplies, food, water purifiers, and traps.
Crafted items may be stored in your Global Inventory or placed in world stash boxes, allowing you to upgrade gear or build functional shelters without needing to locate every piece pre‑made.
- Collect a variety of junk early to unlock more recipes quickly.
- Prioritize essential supplies such as food and water before high‑end weapon upgrades.

Town Liberation
After clearing zombies from a city, players can repair generators and fill them with gasoline from nearby pumps. When generators run and enough zombies have been killed, supply drops with epic loot begin to fall across the town.
These drops attract other survivors, creating a decision point to share the spoils or compete for the valuable resources that appear.
- Coordinate with friends to secure generators before the first drop.
- Guard supply‑drop zones to deter rival survivors.

Base Building
Claim a plot of land by placing a statue, then construct defenses, crops, cooking racks, water wells, living quarters, and personal storage lockers. Seven types of placeable barricades can be looted or crafted to block damage and visibility.
Bases can be built anywhere you own, letting you harvest crops, store food, and set up defenses that protect you from both zombies and hostile players.
- Place barricades at choke points to maximize protection.
- Grow crops inside your base to keep food safe from zombies.

Weapon Customization
Gun skins are unlocked via Cosmetic Crates found in the world and can be changed at any time. Skins are visible to other players and may be traded if already owned; rare permanently skinned guns are rumored to exist for explorers.
Melee options range from kitchen knives to fire axes and maces, offering a spectrum of damage and speed for close‑quarter encounters against zombies or players.
- Visit safezones to showcase and trade rare gun skins.
- Balance melee speed and damage to suit the situation.

Server Modes
PvP servers feature no‑holds‑barred item‑drop combat, allowing players to raid bases, contest Town Liberations, and resolve disputes through direct conflict. PvE servers provide a calmer experience focused on looting and survival without player‑vs‑player threats.
A new respawn system offers five options—proximity, sleeping bag, base, group, or safezone—letting players choose where to reappear after death, facilitating quick reunions or strategic retreats.
- Select PvE if you prefer solo exploration without player aggression.
- Use the safezone respawn option to regroup after a tough PvP encounter.
