About Rogue Voltage
Rogue Voltage lets you build custom abilities by wiring together over 150 distinct modules that generate, amplify, store, or convert energy. Each turn you decide where to channel that energy—into a blaster, a healing potion, or a battery for a larger move later.
The timeline can be nudged forward or backward, letting you dodge hazards or push foes into a Grav‑Spike. Adventures unfold across procedurally generated biomes, and between runs you return to a camp to upgrade buildings and unlock permanent progression.

Module Construction
The game offers more than 150 unique modules, each classified as a generator, amplifier, storage unit, or effect converter. You select a subset of the modules you own and link them to form a circuit, allowing energy to travel through the chain you built.
When modules are linked, their functions interact, creating cascades that can amplify the original output. The strength of a cascade depends on the specific modules you connect, encouraging experimentation to discover powerful synergies.
- Compare a high‑output generator with an amplifier to see how the cascade changes.
- Include at least one storage module if you want to keep energy for a later turn.

Timeline Manipulation
Turns can be pushed forward or pulled backward in time, letting you avoid volcano eruptions, slip past enemies, or force foes into a Grav‑Spike. This temporal shift adds a tactical decision to each turn.
The direction of the shift determines whether you are evading an incoming threat or positioning an enemy for a later effect. Timing these pushes and pulls influences the flow of combat.
- Pull the timeline backward when a hazard is about to land to create a safe window.
- Push the timeline forward to move an enemy into an environmental danger you have prepared.

Procedural Biomes
Your adventure leads you through strange biomes that are generated procedurally, ensuring each run presents a fresh layout of terrain and enemy placements. Enemy difficulty rises as you progress deeper.
Because each biome presents its own set of threats, adapting your module rack to the current environment is essential for survival. Different biomes may favor damage, defense, or utility modules.
- Observe the dominant enemy types in a new biome before committing large energy reserves.
- Carry a mix of generators and converters to stay flexible across varied threats.

Camp Upgrades
Between runs you return to a camp where buildings can be upgraded, providing permanent progression that persists across sessions. Upgrades include expanding your module collection and storing favorite modules.
These upgrades affect future runs by expanding your module collection and letting you store favorite modules, giving you stronger starting tools for later biomes.
- Prioritize upgrades that increase module storage early to broaden your options.
- Enhance generation‑focused buildings to reduce the time needed to build large cascades.

Input Options
Rogue Voltage supports full controller, keyboard‑only, and mouse‑only input methods, letting players choose the configuration that feels most comfortable. No timed input is required, so you can act at your own pace.
Additional settings include adjustable difficulty and custom volume controls, allowing further personalization of the gameplay experience.
- If precise module placement feels important, test the keyboard‑only option first.
- Adjust volume sliders to balance sound effects with background music for clearer audio cues.
