About Rogue Legacy 2
Rogue Legacy 2 is a genealogical rogue‑lite where each death creates a new heir with unique traits and a selectable class. Persistent upgrades and a manor allow you to spend inherited wealth on permanent improvements that aid future runs.
The game presents a 2.5D hand‑drawn world with randomly generated biomes, 15 distinct classes, heirloom powers, and relic items. Accessibility tools let players adjust damage, health and contact settings, while the core loop rewards improvisation over memorisation.

Genealogical Rogue‑Lite Structure
When a hero dies, the player inherits a child who starts a fresh run. Upgrades earned in previous attempts persist, and the manor can be upgraded with inherited wealth to benefit later heirs.
Each heir carries a trait that may help or hinder play. More debilitating traits grant larger gold rewards, making heir selection a strategic choice each time a new run begins.
- Choose heirs with harder traits when you can afford the gold reward.
- Balance trait difficulty with your current skill to avoid frequent early deaths.

Class Variety and Playstyles
Rogue Legacy 2 offers fifteen distinct classes, each delivering a unique combat style. Examples include the Ranger, who attacks from ivy canopies, the Dragon Lancer, who flies at high speed, and the Bard, who sings and dances through enemies.
Selecting a class determines your abilities, attack patterns and movement options, encouraging experimentation across runs and ensuring each heir can feel fresh even in familiar biomes.
- Try several classes early to discover which feels most comfortable.
- Match class strengths with the relics you collect for better synergy.

Procedural Biome Generation
Each area is built using a revamped biome system that applies unique “build strategies,” producing completely new yet randomly generated regions with distinct layouts, monsters and traps.
Because biomes change each entry, memorisation is less useful than improvisation, and players must adapt to new challenges and discover hidden secrets in every run.
- Observe early biome patterns to anticipate common trap types.
- Use heirloom abilities to reveal hidden paths in unfamiliar zones.

Heirlooms and Relics
Heirlooms are permanent items that grant new abilities and unlock deeper world secrets once earned; they must be earned by completing specific challenges rather than being handed automatically.
Relics are unique items collected during a run that modify stats, present special challenges, or add new abilities, but all relics are lost when the hero perishes.
- Prioritise heirloom challenges that complement your preferred class.
- Collect relics that suit your current run, remembering they disappear on death.

Accessibility and House Rules
House Rules let players toggle contact damage, adjust global damage and health, and grant flight for difficult platform sections, providing flexible difficulty customization.
The game also introduces Off‑shore Banking, a mechanic that gives struggling players additional ways to succeed without altering core gameplay.
- Enable flight in House Rules if platforming feels too demanding.
- Use Off‑shore Banking to cushion early‑run setbacks.
