About Rogue Blight

Rogue Blight is a 2D action‑RPG that mixes Souls‑style combat with rogue‑lite progression. Players fight a range of enemies and bosses while wielding a single‑handed weapon or a shield in each hand, creating varied builds.

The game offers an infinite New Game+ loop, over 50 weapons each with unique skills, and a selection of status effects and blessings that can be applied to enemies, including bosses. It runs on Windows, macOS and Linux with full controller and keyboard support.

01 / THE GUIDE

Combat System

Combat is described as reminiscent of the Souls series, requiring players to engage a wide variety of formidable enemies and bosses. Weapons are one‑handed, and shields can be equipped in the left hand, allowing mixed‑hand builds.

During fights, any enemy—including bosses—can receive status effects such as Bleed, Poison, Burn, Freeze, Shock, Choke, Shatter, Life Splash, Darkness or Light Struck, adding extra layers to each encounter.

  • Try different weapon‑and‑shield combinations to see how they feel in combat.
  • Experiment with applying various status effects to observe their visual feedback.

Character Progression

All weapons are one‑handed, letting players mix swords, daggers, wands and shields across both hands. Over 50 weapons are available, each carrying its own skill set, which influences how the character performs in battle.

Advancing a character’s level unlocks additional weapons, gear and blessings. Blessings are unique items that modify builds, and permanent upgrades persist across future runs, expanding options for later playthroughs.

  • Collect blessings from chests and shops to broaden your build options.
  • Track which weapons you acquire as you level up to plan future runs.

03 / THE GUIDE

Map Progression

Players traverse three randomly generated maps, each featuring unique enemies, backgrounds and random encounters. These encounters can grant distinct rewards, encouraging exploration of each area.

Throughout the maps, chests contain blessings, and a shop provides weapons, gear and additional blessings for purchase, giving players multiple ways to acquire new equipment.

  • Visit the shop whenever you encounter it to see what items are available.
  • Open every chest you find to discover possible blessings.

04 / THE GUIDE

Resource Management

Health, mana and stamina can be increased by praying at statues scattered in the world. A blacksmith allows players to smelt spare gear into upgrades, providing a method to strengthen equipment between battles.

The game supports saving at any time, and saved data is synchronized via Steam Cloud, ensuring that resource decisions are retained across sessions.

  • Use statues to boost the resource you feel needs the most improvement.
  • Consider smelting excess gear at the blacksmith to free inventory space.

Rogue Blight runs on Windows, macOS and Linux, offering full controller support—including DualShock and DualSense—as well as a keyboard‑only option and custom volume controls.

Steam integration adds achievements, trading cards, cloud saves, leaderboards and family sharing, allowing flexible play across multiple devices.

  • Enable Steam Cloud if you plan to switch computers.
  • Test both controller and keyboard modes to decide which input feels more comfortable.
