About Rise of Prussia Gold
Rise of Prussia Gold expands AGEOD’s 2010 Seven Years War into a detailed grand‑strategy title set across Germany and its neighbours during Frederick II’s reign. The Gold edition adds new scenarios, extra leaders, unit graphics and a four‑player campaign while keeping single‑player and multiplayer modes.
The map contains over a thousand regions, and a hierarchy‑based command system lets players organise armies in a historically‑inspired way. Decision cards and map filters give additional strategic layers without altering core gameplay.

New Scenarios and Campaigns
Gold introduces three scenarios: two covering Frederick II’s early battles in the War of Austrian Succession (1740‑1748) and a four‑player Grand Campaign spanning 1757‑1763. These sit alongside the original ten scenarios, which include short battles, annual campaigns and a Grand Campaign from 1756‑1764.
All scenarios feature tailored events and the new decision‑card system, allowing players to influence political or military outcomes while preserving the historical framework of each period.
- Compare early‑war and later scenarios to see how unit composition changes.
- Use the four‑player Grand Campaign to test strategies against human opponents.

Leaders and Unit Variety
The base game provides over three hundred leaders, many with individual portraits, and more than three hundred distinct unit types. Gold adds over two hundred additional leaders for the War of Austrian Succession, expanding the roster of historical commanders.
New unit graphics and enhanced siege‑warfare features improve visual clarity, helping players distinguish infantry, cavalry, artillery and specialised troops during engagements.
- Note portrait details to identify leaders quickly.
- Employ the new siege warfare features when attacking fortified provinces.

Regional Decision Cards
Regional Decision Cards let players play cards on specific provinces, triggering events or modifying conditions. This system, refined from earlier AGEOD titles, is present in all scenarios of the Gold edition.
Cards add a strategic choice layer, enabling influence over political or military factors without changing the underlying command hierarchy.
- Time card use around key battles for maximum effect.
- Experiment with different card combinations to explore varied outcomes.

Map Coverage and Filters
The map covers all of Germany and surrounding areas, divided into over a thousand regions for manoeuvring armies. New map filters let players view weather and terrain information directly on the map.
These visual tools help assess terrain and weather conditions relevant to combat, supporting better planning for large‑scale operations across diverse landscapes.
- Check the weather filter before offensives to anticipate conditions your armies may face.
- Use terrain data to position units where they gain defensive benefits.

Streamlined Command Hierarchy
Rise of Prussia Gold uses a hierarchy‑based command system similar to AGEOD’s American Civil War and Napoleonic Campaigns, supporting historical army organization and order issuance.
The system simplifies management of large forces while preserving depth, making coordination across the extensive map and many turns more approachable.
- Familiarise yourself with the hierarchy levels to issue orders efficiently.
- Align your command structure with the scenario’s historical context for better results.
