About RIFTSTORM
RIFTSTORM drops you into the Mythic Protocol, where elite operatives called Weavers close reality‑bending rifts, wield supernatural powers, and battle impossible entities. You can deploy alone or with up to two teammates in hostile PvE missions, completing the three‑step loop of investigation, containment, and extermination.
Each deployment presents a risk‑reward choice: push deeper into Rift Exposure Zones for higher‑tier loot, or extract before corruption overwhelms you. Failed extractions scar your weapons with a random negative mod, keeping the gear usable but altered for future runs.

Mission Structure
Missions follow a three‑step loop: investigate anomalous activity, contain rift outbreaks, then exterminate mythic threats. Objectives are completed in hostile PvE zones, after which the squad decides whether to press onward or extract.
Both solo play and squads of up to three players can undertake these missions. The decision to stay in a Rift Exposure Zone or withdraw directly influences loot quality and the chance of weapon scarring.
- Compare loot from early extraction versus deeper pushes to gauge your risk tolerance.
- Coordinate extraction timing with teammates to reduce unnecessary weapon scarring.

Weapon Scarring System
Every deployment puts your weapons at risk. If extraction fails, you lose all mission loot and the weapons you brought return scarred, swapping one of their mods for a random negative mod.
Scarred weapons persist across missions, meaning future runs may start with compromised gear. This mechanic forces players to weigh the value of current loot against the potential loss of a key weapon mod.
- Track which mods are lost on scarred weapons to plan future loadouts.
- Weigh the immediate reward against the long‑term impact of a negative mod.

Rift Exposure Zones
Rift Exposure Zones are high‑risk areas filled with deadly corruption, unstable rewards, and stronger mythic enemies. Entering these zones can yield superior loot, but also raises the chance of weapon scarring and mission failure.
Squads decide whether to venture deeper for potential payoff or extract to preserve their haul. The zones are optional but heavily influence the risk‑reward balance of each deployment.
- Assess enemy density before committing to a deep push.
- Use the higher reward potential of zones when your squad feels strong.

Weaver Abilities
Each Weaver brings a unique combat identity, allowing you to wield experimental weapons, manipulate rift energy, and apply Lythogram upgrades that reshape builds mid‑mission.
Modifiers can be stacked to create synergies, letting a clean loadout evolve dramatically by the end of a deployment. This flexibility encourages experimentation with different playstyles.
- Try stacking early‑game modifiers to discover powerful combos.
- Observe how Lythogram upgrades shift your role and adjust squad composition accordingly.

Partial controller support is listed, and the game runs on Windows PCs, offering flexibility in input methods while maintaining the core online experience.
- Test both solo and co‑op runs to see which mode fits your style best.
- Ensure a stable connection before starting a high‑risk mission.
