About Rift of the NecroDancer
Rift of the NecroDancer drops Cadence into a rhythm‑based world where every monster move follows a musical beat. Players must move and act on the rhythm while learning each foe’s pattern, such as bats that shift lanes when attacked.
The game ships with over 40 tracks, four intensity levels for each Rhythm Rift, a Remix Mode that reshuffles beat maps, and developer tools for custom music. Global leaderboards, rhythm‑based boss battles, and five slice‑of‑life minigames round out the single‑player experience.

Rhythm Rift Levels
Each hand‑crafted level pairs a dedicated music track with enemy patterns that move in time with the beat. Players step to the rhythm while navigating layouts that guide monsters toward Cadence, and every monster follows the same musical timing.
Four intensity levels—EASY, MEDIUM, HARD, and IMPOSSIBLE—are offered for every Rhythm Rift, letting players select a challenge that matches their skill and providing a clear scaling of difficulty.
- Begin on EASY to become comfortable with beat‑aligned movement before trying higher intensities.
- Watch how monsters approach the player to anticipate when they will act on the next beat.

Soundtrack and Remix Mode
The title includes a new soundtrack of more than 40 tracks created by several composers, each matched to a specific level’s rhythm. The music drives both enemy actions and player movement throughout the game.
Remix Mode generates a fresh beat map for the same level each playthrough while retaining the original rhythmic design, allowing varied experiences without changing the level layout.
- Listen to the full track before a run to become aware of tempo changes.
- Use Remix Mode to practice reading new patterns without memorising a fixed map.

Custom Music Editor
Players can build personal beat maps using the same developer tools that produced the official tracks. Imported songs become playable levels, expanding the game’s content beyond the shipped library.
Created maps appear alongside the standard tracks and can be shared through Steam Workshop, allowing the community to exchange and play each other's music‑driven levels.
- Start with short loops to test timing before expanding to full songs.
- Upload finished maps to Workshop for community feedback.

Boss Battles and Rhythm Minigames
Five rhythm‑based boss encounters require precise timing to defeat each foe. The bosses follow distinct musical cues that players must match to land successful attacks.
Between main stages, five slice‑of‑life rhythm minigames—such as a yoga class or a part‑time job—offer additional beat‑aligned activities featuring Cadence and friends.
- Treat each boss as a practice of matching the music’s beat to your attacks.
- Play the minigames to reinforce steady rhythm without high pressure.
