01 / THE GUIDE
DualShock Controller Support
The PC edition lists DualShock controller support, allowing players to connect a PlayStation gamepad and use it for all in‑game actions. This option appears together with DualSense and partial controller support in the key‑binding settings screen.
Keyboard input remains available, so players can switch between a gamepad and keyboard at any time without needing a dedicated controller‑only mode. The settings let you assign actions to any button on the connected controller.
- Check the key‑binding screen to confirm which actions are mapped to your controller.
- Test the controller in a low‑danger area before tackling tougher encounters.

Graphic Options
The graphics menu includes a "Display mode" setting that controls monitor resolution and refresh rate, as well as a "Presentation" option for fullscreen or windowed mode. Aspect‑ratio correction and scaling method choices let you adapt the image to different screens.
Additional controls cover vertical synchronization, gamma correction, anisotropic filtering, and anti‑aliasing. These options let players balance image quality and performance according to their hardware capabilities.
- Use vertical synchronization if you notice screen tearing on high‑refresh monitors.
- Adjust gamma correction to improve visibility in dark rooms.

Adventure Modes
Two separate adventures are available from the start: Leon S. Kennedy, a rookie cop, and Claire Redfield, searching for her missing brother. Each character follows a distinct storyline with unique item placements and enemy encounters.
Both the original U.S. and original Japanese versions are included, so players can select which edition to play. The dual‑adventure structure remains unchanged from the classic release.
- Select Leon or Claire at the main menu to begin the desired storyline.
- Take note of differing puzzle clues between the two characters.

Extreme Battle Mode
Extreme Battle Mode pits players against waves of zombies in a hyper‑intensive challenge that reshuffles each playthrough. The mode is unlocked from the very beginning, requiring no prior story completion.
The mode adds a competitive element to the classic survival formula, encouraging players to manage ammunition and positioning as the difficulty escalates with each wave.
- Conserve ammunition early to handle later, tougher waves.
- Observe enemy spawn patterns to choose effective positions.

Localization
The PC edition ships with six language localizations—English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, and Japanese. Subtitles and cutscenes adapt to the selected language, providing broader accessibility.
Improvements include better subtitle handling and corrected end‑credits in the German version, as well as fixes for missing text and invisible diary items in specific rooms.
- Choose your preferred language in the options menu before starting a new game.
- Verify that subtitles appear correctly after changing the language.
