About Replicat

Replicat blends roguelike deck‑building with memory‑matching. Players assemble decks from over 90 cards across five colors, then use those cards to manipulate a matching board across 21 escalating levels. The game’s single‑player mode runs on Windows, macOS and Linux and features a jazzy, cat‑filled aesthetic.

Beyond cards, the run is shaped by more than 80 curios that rewrite matching rules, five essence categories for upgrades, and unique boss stages that add their own modifiers. Experience earned in each run unlocks new cards, starter decks and higher difficulties for future attempts.

01 / THE GUIDE

Deckbuilding

Decks are built from a pool of 90+ cards, each belonging to one of five colors with distinct mechanics. Selecting cards defines how you can gain extra moves, reveal hidden tiles, or manipulate turn order during a run.

As the run progresses, the deck grows stronger, allowing players to experiment with archetypes focused on extra moves, passive reveals, turn manipulation, multipliers or pure chaos. The deck’s composition directly influences how cards interact with the matching board.

  • Combine cards that grant extra moves with those that reveal tiles to increase tempo.
  • Mix colors whose mechanics complement each other for broader strategic options.

02 / THE GUIDE

Curios

Curios are collectible items—over 80 in total—that rewrite how matching works. They can keep tiles flipped, allow wild Joker matches, or turn mismatched pairs into successes.

Adding curios to a run expands strategic options, turning mistakes into opportunities and letting players experiment with rule‑defying tactics alongside their deck.

  • Choose curios that reinforce your deck’s focus, such as passive reveals for a reveal‑heavy build.
  • Select curios that alter failure conditions to reduce risk in aggressive plays.

03 / THE GUIDE

Levels and Bosses

The game presents 21 levels of escalating challenge, with unique boss stages to battle. Bosses introduce their own game‑changing modifiers that test the player’s deck and curios.

Progress through levels by matching cards and managing the board; higher levels increase difficulty and demand more refined deck and curio choices.

  • Before a boss, add curios that help you handle the boss’s modifiers.
  • Prioritize cards that grant extra moves when facing later, tougher levels.

04 / THE GUIDE

Starter Decks

Replicat offers 10 starter decks, each paired with its own difficulty set. These decks provide an initial collection of cards and introduce the core memory‑matching mechanics.

Choosing a starter deck shapes early‑game strategy and influences how quickly a player adapts to the board and curio system.

  • Try several starter decks to discover which difficulty curve matches your comfort level.
  • Select a starter deck that aligns with the archetype you plan to develop later.

05 / THE GUIDE

Progression and Unlocks

Runs award experience that unlocks new cards, additional starter decks, and higher difficulty levels. Each unlock expands the pool of options for future runs.

The unlock system encourages experimentation, as new cards and decks enable fresh deck‑building strategies and curio combinations.

  • Focus on runs that yield high experience to unlock more cards sooner.
  • Higher difficulties are themselves unlocks that bring greater challenge.
