About Rebel Inc: Escalation
Rebel Inc: Escalation expands the political‑military strategy of its predecessor with eight distinct regions, each offering a unique environment such as farms, forests, dams and drug‑trade zones. Players must balance civilian development and military actions to win local support while suppressing insurgent threats.
The title adds several multiplayer formats, a scenario editor with Steam Workshop integration, and advanced AI that models civilian needs and insurgent attacks. Adjustable difficulty, camera comfort options and a mouse‑only input mode let players tailor the experience.
01 / THE GUIDE
Diverse Regions
Eight regions are available, ranging from the gentle farms of “Saffron Fields” to the impenetrable forests of “Distant Steppe”. Each region presents its own strategic challenges, such as defending the Azure Dam or countering the drug trade in Opium Fields.
Because each region has a different terrain and local objective, players must adapt the balance of military and civilian priorities for each map, leading to distinct tactical considerations across the campaign.
- Observe how terrain influences insurgent activity before committing forces.
- Compare resource needs between agricultural and forested regions to allocate aid efficiently.

Unique Governors
Eight governors each bring a distinct ability, such as the Economist’s lump‑sum income or the Warlord’s personal militia. Other options include the Tank Commander’s heavy armour and the Smuggler’s black‑market access.
Selecting a governor determines early‑game resource flow and available military assets, shaping how players approach development, security and insurgent pressure in any given region.
- Match the governor’s strength to the region’s primary challenge.
- Experiment with different governors to see which ability best supports your early strategy.

Multiplayer Modes
The game offers PvP where one player controls the insurgency while the other stabilises a region, and co‑op play that lets two players stabilise separate regions together. A co‑op campaign adds escalating difficulty for shared objectives.
Dynamic scaling adjusts challenge based on player skill, ensuring that both competitive and cooperative experiences remain engaging for participants of differing expertise.
- Coordinate resource transfers with your co‑op partner to cover each other's weak spots.
- In PvP, balance offensive pressure with defensive stability to keep the opponent off‑balance.

Scenario Creator & Workshop
Players can build custom scenarios using the built‑in editor and share them via Steam Workshop. Official and community‑created scenarios provide fresh ways to play beyond the core campaign.
The editor lets users develop their own scenarios and share them with other players via Steam Workshop, creating a wide variety of challenges for the community.
- Start with a simple scenario to learn the editor’s basics before adding complex variables.
- Browse the Workshop for community scenarios that match your preferred difficulty level.
