About Rabbit and Steel
Rabbit & Steel is a co-op action roguelike built around raid-style boss fights, where one to four rabbit-eared heroes battle toward the Moonlit Pinnacle. Combat deliberately echoes tab-target MMORPGs, relying on global cooldowns, well-timed skills, gear effects, and teamwork to resolve boss mechanics, yet it remains a self-contained roguelike rather than an MMO.
A run starts with picking a class and inviting friends to a lobby, putting a raid together in moments. The game features a single-player story campaign, a wide variety of bosses and bullet-hell patterns, and more than 100 random loot items that can combine into powerful sets. It is available on Windows, and the Steam listing notes full controller support along with achievements, Steam Cloud, Remote Play Together, and Family Sharing.
01 / THE GUIDE
Co-op Raid Structure
A lobby is created, each player selects a class, and a team of one to four rabbits enters a boss stage together. The design rewards coordinated skill usage, gear effects, and careful timing around the global cooldown to resolve boss mechanics as a group.
When venturing out alone, mechanics that normally require cooperation are replaced with intense bullet-hell attacks, keeping solo runs challenging even without allies at your side.
- Call out your cooldowns so teammates do not waste overlapping abilities at the same moment.
- Agree on who handles each boss mechanic before the fight starts so nothing gets double-covered.

Loot and Character Build
Each run drops random loot from a pool of over 100 items that can be equipped to power up your character. Certain sets of items combo very well together, so gear choices shape how effective your class becomes over a run.
Loot is contested: an item that is excellent for your build might be exactly what an ally rolls on too. Coordinating who takes what keeps the whole team stronger.
- Identify your class's core strength early and prioritize items that reinforce it.
- Discuss which set pieces each player wants before rolling, so a key item does not go to someone who cannot use it.

Single-Player Campaign
A single-player story campaign sends one rabbit into the Moonlit Kingdom, where contact was lost months ago and the city's denizens now attack outsiders on sight. Chatting up your enemies is how you uncover the mystery behind the colossal white tower that manifests in the city's center each night.
The night is short, so expeditions must move swiftly. Solo play keeps the roguelike's demanding bullet-hell encounters, since cooperative mechanics are swapped out for intense solo patterns.
- Use solo runs as a low-pressure way to experiment with different item combinations.
- Pay attention to what enemies say during the campaign; the conversations are where the story unfolds.

Controller and Steam Features
The Steam listing states the game supports playing with keyboard, mouse plus keyboard, or with a controller, and lists full controller support including DualShock and DualSense options. Players can choose whichever setup suits them.
Steam integration includes achievements, Steam Cloud, Remote Play Together, and Family Sharing, offering several ways to track accomplishments and share the game with others.
- Check which Steam features are enabled in your client settings before starting a shared session.
- If you play on more than one computer, look into how Steam Cloud is handling your data before relying on it.
05 / THE GUIDE
Multiplayer Modes
Up to four players can play together locally, online, or a blend of local and online players in the same group, so friends can join from the same couch or from different places.
The feature list confirms online co-op and shared/split-screen co-op as supported modes, giving groups flexibility in how they assemble their raid.
- Try a local session first if your group is new, since sitting together makes coordinating mechanics easier.
- Use online co-op when teammates cannot gather in one place.
