01 / THE GUIDE
Music Encore Mode
Music Encore supplies brand‑new tracks arranged to match the original arcade versions, giving each stage its own dedicated background music. Composer WASi303 used authentic portable‑hardware sound chips to preserve the retro feel while delivering fresh audio.
Within the mode, the titles of the newly arranged tracks appear on screen as “Encore Track” titles, allowing players to identify the music that corresponds to each stage just as in the arcade.
- Observe the on‑screen Encore Track titles to confirm which stage’s music is playing.
- Listen for differences between the new arrangements and the original arcade tracks for a sense of the changes.

Ultimate Challenge
Ultimate Challenge links the First Bydo Mission from R‑TYPE to the Second Bydo Mission from R‑TYPE II, creating a single uninterrupted playthrough that spans both titles. This continuous run is described as the series‑spanning ultimate mission.
During the run, the game records detailed performance data such as hit rate and number of continues in addition to the standard score, letting players see how few mistakes they make.
- Review the hit‑rate figure after each stage to gauge accuracy.
- Note the number of continues used to assess overall efficiency.
