About Puzzline

Puzzline is a board‑game style card game where each card has a puzzle‑like shape and a special effect. Players place cards that connect to those already on the board, balancing strong and weak effects while trying to empty their hand.

The game offers many deck varieties, from basic to chaotic, and supports both solo and multiplayer modes. Online matches let you face worldwide opponents, create private rooms, or add NPCs, while a 2v2 tag team mode is available for cooperative play.

01 / THE GUIDE

Gameplay Basics

Each card in Puzzline features a distinct shape that must fit with the shapes already on the board. When a card is placed, its effect activates, influencing the flow of the game. Strong‑effect cards are harder to play, encouraging players to manage hand balance. Bad‑effect cards can be passed to opponents, adding a tactical element to hand management.

  • Observe which shapes are still open on the board before playing a high‑effect card.
  • Consider passing a detrimental card to an opponent when you have no better placement.

02 / THE GUIDE

Deck Varieties

Puzzline provides several predefined decks: Basic, Standard, Unstable, Chaos, Expert, Explore, Special, Tag Mach, Highlander, and Custom. Each deck emphasizes different card characteristics, such as random effects or the absence of duplicates. Choosing a deck shapes the strategic landscape, as some focus on transformation, others on randomness, and the Custom option lets players build their own collection.

  • Try the Expert deck if you prefer predictable effects.
  • Use the Custom deck to tailor the card pool to your preferred play style.

Tag Team 2v2 Mode

The Tag Mach deck enables a 2v2 tag team game where two players cooperate against another pair. This mode is only accessible in online matches, allowing coordinated strategies between teammates. As in other modes, players can pass cards to other players, keeping the hand‑balancing mechanic in play during team matches.

  • Coordinate with your partner on which shapes to leave open for each other.
  • Use the ability to pass bad cards to the opposing team to disrupt their plans.

Online Match Features

Puzzline supports online play with players worldwide. Private matches can be created using a password, and NPCs may be added to fill empty slots, ensuring a full game experience. The game also includes Steam Achievements as a listed Steam feature.

  • Set a password for private matches to control who can join.
  • Add NPCs when you have an odd number of human players to keep the game balanced.

Platform Availability

Puzzline is released on Windows and macOS via Steam, offering both single‑player and multiplayer experiences. Linux is not listed as a supported platform. The game includes Steam Achievements and supports Family Sharing, allowing multiple accounts to access the same purchase.

  • Check your Steam library for the Windows or macOS version before purchasing.
  • Enable Family Sharing if you want other household members to play without buying a separate copy.
