About Pronty
Pronty thrusts players into an underwater Metroidvania where the rookie diver Pronty teams up with Bront, a robotic javelin‑swordfish. Together they fend off mutated sea creatures spawned by toxic waste and clear obstacles while protecting the fallen city of Royla. The game blends action combat, exploration, and a colorful line‑art aesthetic, all underscored by Paul Su’s atmospheric soundtrack.
Players can customize their approach through swappable upgrades on Pronty’s Memory Board, tackle a range of difficulty settings, and test their skills in a post‑launch Boss Rush mode set in Neptune’s Hall. Full controller support, Steam Achievements, and cloud saves round out the single‑player experience.
01 / THE GUIDE
Javelin Combat System
The core mechanic revolves around controlling both Pronty and Bront, the weaponized robotic swordfish. Bront can repel enemies, remove obstacles, and act as a shield for Pronty, creating a layered defensive and offensive dynamic.
Hostile mutated sea life and giant bosses populate the depths, requiring players to time Bront’s attacks and positioning to survive. The system encourages strategic placement rather than pure button mashing.
- Observe enemy patterns before committing Bront’s shield to maximize protection.
- Experiment with positioning Bront to clear obstacles early, opening new pathways.

Swappable Upgrades on the Memory Board
Players unlock new abilities and upgrades via Pronty’s Memory Board, allowing customized combat strategies. Each upgrade can be swapped to suit different situations, encouraging experimentation.
The system is designed for flexibility, letting players tailor their load‑out without locking them into a single playstyle, which is useful against varied enemy types and bosses.
- Mix defensive and offensive upgrades to handle both crowd control and boss encounters.
- Revisit earlier areas after acquiring new upgrades to discover previously inaccessible routes.

Metroidvania Exploration of Royla
The game presents a fallen underwater city, Royla, as a sprawling Metroidvania map. Players navigate through interconnected zones, using Bront’s abilities to access hidden sections.
Exploration pairs with unlocking new abilities and upgrades on the Memory Board, encouraging thorough traversal of the vibrant, line‑art styled environments.
- Map out each zone’s entry points to avoid missing upgrade locations.
- Use Bront’s obstacle‑removing ability to uncover shortcuts early.

The combination of striking visuals and a haunting score enhances immersion, making each dive feel distinct and memorable.
- Adjust volume controls to balance music and sound effects for optimal immersion.
- Take moments to appreciate the line‑art details; they often hint at hidden paths.

Adjustable Difficulty and Boss Rush Mode
Players can select from multiple difficulty levels, ensuring the challenge matches their skill. Post‑launch updates added a Boss Rush mode located in Neptune’s Hall, letting players face a sequence of bosses back‑to‑back.
Both difficulty settings and the Boss Rush provide replay value, testing mastery of combat and upgrade configurations.
- Start with a lower difficulty to learn boss patterns before attempting higher tiers.
- Use the Boss Rush as a benchmark for how well your current upgrade setup performs.
