Spelling Mechanics
Players use wooden tiles to attack and plastic tiles to defend, creating a tactical layer for each run. Spells can be activated to shift letters across the alphabet, turn tiles into candy, or add wildcards, influencing how words form.
Tile effects such as poison, trigrams, and capital letters can appear, requiring careful planning. Managing these effects while spelling words is central to progressing through each encounter.
- Try combining shift and wildcard spells to see how tile states change.
- Watch for poison or capital‑letter tiles, as they alter word outcomes.

Character Abilities
Five characters are available, each providing a distinct ability. Some can hole‑punch tiles to submit multiple words at once, while others let you weave through fish to catch specific letters.
These abilities affect how you approach spelling challenges and enemy encounters, offering varied strategies without changing the core mechanics.
- Select a character whose ability matches the type of tiles you prefer to manipulate.
- Experiment with fish‑weaving to target letters needed for longer words.
