About PowerSlave Exhumed
PowerSlave Exhumed is a KEX Engine port that unites the PlayStation and Saturn releases of the classic title. Set in the ancient Egyptian city of Karnak, the game puts you in a first‑person perspective to battle alien forces that have sealed the city.
The port adds widescreen and HD display, modern gamepad support, SMAA antialiasing, anisotropic texture filtering, Vulkan/DirectX 11 graphics, and smooth object interpolation for high‑refresh monitors. Steam achievements, cloud saves, and family sharing are also included for the single‑player experience.
01 / THE GUIDE
First‑Person Action
The game is presented from a first‑person viewpoint, delivering nonstop action across more than twenty levels. Players move through Karnak and the tomb of Pharaoh Ramses, with the ability to travel between floors inside a single level.
Dynamic lighting creates visual effects that change as you cross bridges, swim in underwater grottos, or enter darker chambers. This lighting, combined with full 3D rendering, helps signal enemy locations and environmental hazards.
- Watch how lighting shifts when moving from outdoor to indoor areas; it often hints at hidden enemies.
- Use the first‑person view to line up shots before engaging larger groups of foes.

Weapon Variety
You start with a machete and can locate six additional weapons, including hand grenades, a flame thrower, an M‑60 machine gun, and a magical cobra staff. Each weapon offers a distinct method for confronting alien enemies.
The spread of melee, explosive, automatic, and magical options encourages you to switch tactics as you progress, adapting to corridor fights, open arenas, or underwater sections.
- Try the flame thrower in tight corridors where enemies cluster.
- Reserve the cobra staff for moments when magical attacks are advantageous.

Graphics Enhancements
The port runs on Vulkan or DirectX 11 APIs, providing smooth object interpolation for high‑refresh monitors. SMAA antialiasing and anisotropic texture filtering improve visual clarity, especially in widescreen and HD modes.
These updates make the classic environments appear more detailed while preserving the original level layout and atmosphere, allowing textures and edges to stay crisp during fast movement.
- Enable anisotropic filtering for clearer textures on distant surfaces.
- Adjust antialiasing if you notice flickering on fast‑moving scenes.

Steam Features
PowerSlave Exhumed supports Steam achievements, cloud saves, and family sharing, all operating within the single‑player mode. Achievements give extra goals beyond the main campaign.
Cloud synchronization stores your progress online, so reinstalling or switching PCs retains your saved game state. Family sharing lets another account launch the game from your shared library.
- Check the achievement list to set personal milestones during play.
- Enable cloud sync to protect your progress before reinstalling the game.

Full Controller Support
The game includes full controller support, allowing modern gamepads to be used for navigation, combat, and weapon selection. This support works alongside the first‑person perspective and the variety of weapons available.
While the description does not detail specific button assignments, the presence of controller support ensures that players can play without relying on a keyboard or mouse.
- Test the default controller layout before starting a level.
- Observe how the controller feels during combat and adjust your playstyle if needed.
