About Pixel Survivors: Defense
Pixel Survivors: Defense mixes roguelite progression with tower‑defense mechanics. Your hero stays fixed while monsters march down lanes, and spells fire automatically. Each run revolves around the spells and items you assemble before the enemy line finally breaks.
Between waves you level up, choose new spells, and spend gold in a shop that offers over 200 items. The game adds spell evolution, elite enemies, bosses, multiple difficulties, Endless mode, meta upgrades, achievements, and a codex for a deep single‑player experience.
01 / THE GUIDE
Core Gameplay Loop
The hero never moves; monsters advance down the lanes toward you while your spells fire on their own. Victory depends on constructing a defense that can hold wave after wave.
When a wave ends you level up, select new spells or upgrades, and spend gold in a shop. This cycle repeats until the monster line finally breaks.
- Observe which spell combinations survive longer before committing to a full build.
- Compare early‑wave gold income to later‑wave costs to balance spending.

Spell System
You can equip up to five of eighteen spells. From wave 21 each spell can evolve into a larger version, expanding its effect without manual activation.
Evolved spells provide a noticeable power increase, encouraging players to plan for longer runs where evolution becomes possible.
- Test spell synergies early to see which evolve well together.
- Consider reserving gold for evolution after wave 20.

Items and Shop
Between waves you can spend earned gold in a shop that offers over 200 items. Many items ask for something back, adding a trade‑off element to each purchase.
The variety lets you push a build as far as its resources allow, shaping each run’s unique strategy.
- Track which items demand a trade‑off to avoid unexpected deficits.
- Prioritize items that complement your chosen spell set.

Heroes and Passives
Ten heroes are unlockable, each equipped with a distinct weapon and passive ability. Selecting a hero changes the baseline capabilities of your tower.
Hero choice influences which spells and items synergize best, adding another layer to pre‑run planning.
- Match hero passives with spell effects for smoother scaling.
- Experiment with different heroes to discover new viable combos.

Difficulty and Modes
The game provides five difficulty levels and an Endless mode for unlimited waves. Meta upgrades and achievements give long‑term goals.
Monsters’ Ascension can be turned on, granting enemies a new item each wave and further raising difficulty.
- Start on lower difficulty to learn spell interactions before tackling higher tiers.
- Use Endless mode to benchmark how far your current build can survive.
