About Peripeteia
Peripeteia is a cyberpunk immersive sim set in an alternate‑history Poland, blending first‑ and third‑person shooter, stealth and RPG elements. You play as Marie, a cybernetic mercenary navigating a post‑Soviet city teeming with corruption, factions and conspiracies. The game emphasizes open‑ended problem solving, extensive exploration, and a deep inventory system. With no quest markers and a world that reacts to every choice, players must rely on wits, tactics and raw firepower to survive the gritty, rain‑soaked streets.
01 / THE GUIDE
Alternate‑History Polish City
The game takes place in a post‑Soviet Polish metropolis where nations, factions and ideologies clash. The environment is rendered in early‑2000s brutalist architecture with modern lighting, rain on concrete and a dark, atmospheric tone. Every tower, sewer, rooftop and basement is real and reachable, encouraging players to discover hidden routes and secret locations without any quest markers.
- Look for any visible ledge; Marie can climb it.
- Use vertical spaces to bypass heavily guarded areas.

Sandbox Problem Solving
Peripeteia offers multiple ways to complete objectives: hacking terminals, possessing enemies, manipulating factions, sneaking through vents, or confronting foes with loud firepower. Each mission acts as a sandbox where choices affect who lives, dies, and which flag flies. The lack of a single correct path means players can craft unique strategies, from diplomatic talks to brute‑force assaults, shaping the narrative through their actions.
- Experiment with hacking before engaging in combat.
- Consider faction reactions when choosing a violent approach.

Extensive Armament
Over 100 weapons are available, ranging from Cold War surplus to prototype rarities and stolen NATO hardware. Every magazine, bullet and attachment exists as a physical object in the inventory, allowing players to strip enemy weapons for parts and transfer gear between missions. Marie’s basement serves as a personal stash where loadouts can be planned or improvised on the fly.
- Collect spare parts to customize weapons later.
- Keep a variety of ammo types for different encounters.

Vertical Freedom
The city’s design lets Marie climb virtually anywhere she can see a ledge, using a sabre jammed into walls or crates for support. This vertical freedom turns every structure into a potential pathway, rewarding curiosity and thorough scouting. Getting lost is intentional; the game encourages finding places no one else has discovered, reinforcing the sense of a living, expansive world.
- Use crates to reach higher platforms.
- Mark interesting locations mentally for later return.

Implants and Resources
Marie is powerful but not invincible; players must manage implants, ration energy and scavenge supplies. The city’s factions will use and discard the player, making resource management crucial for continued operation. Monitoring health, energy levels and inventory weight helps avoid being caught unprepared during high‑risk encounters.
- Regularly check implant status before missions.
- Prioritize energy‑efficient weapons when low on power.
