About Out of Space
Out of Space is a local and online co‑op game where players move into a procedurally generated spaceship house. Together you must clean alien goo, recycle trash, grow gardens and build technology to keep the habitat livable. The game blends short, couch‑friendly matches with deeper strategic decisions about expansion and automation.
Each session challenges planning and teamwork as you power the ship, adopt dogs, and manage resources. No weapons appear; instead you wield mops, robots and renewable systems to turn chaos into a cozy space home.
01 / THE GUIDE
Gameplay Loop
Every match begins in a randomly generated spaceship house that needs cleaning, resource gathering and technology placement. Players generate power by recycling alien goo and produce batteries to keep systems running.
Cleaning, gardening and building are repeated actions that grow in complexity as new rooms open. Success depends on short‑term cleaning bursts and long‑term automation choices.
- Prioritize power generation early to avoid stalls.
- Use robots to automate repetitive cleaning tasks.

Procedural Generation
The spaceship layout is created anew each playthrough, offering a different challenge each time. New rooms appear as you expand, requiring fresh planning for cleaning routes and resource placement.
Because the map changes, no two sessions feel identical, keeping the strategic layout decisions fresh and encouraging adaptable teamwork.
- Scout new rooms before committing resources.
- Adapt cleaning routes as the ship expands.

- Use split‑screen for quick coordination.
- Invite friends via Remote Play for easy online sessions.

Technology & Automation
Players can buy, build and place new technologies that automate cleaning, harvesting and power production. Robots handle repetitive chores, while gardens provide food for the crew.
Automation reduces the manual workload, letting the team focus on expansion and dealing with alien threats. Upgrading tech is essential for long‑term sustainability.
- Invest in robots after securing basic power.
- Upgrade garden tech to keep the crew fed.
