About Orcs Must Die! 3

Orcs Must Die! 3 expands the series’ signature trap‑based action, letting players face far larger orc armies than before. The game supports solo play or two‑player co‑op, offering a huge arsenal of weapons, traps, and upgrades.

Set more than twenty years after the second title, the new story follows the War Mage and Sorceress as they train fresh apprentices. Players can also test endurance in Endless, Scramble, and weekly challenge modes that keep the orc onslaught coming.

01 / THE GUIDE

War Scenarios

War Scenarios place players on open battlefields surrounding castles, confronting waves of hundreds of orcs. The goal is to thin the hordes before they breach the walls and crash the rift.

These scenarios emphasize massive scale, delivering the series’ promise of overwhelming enemy numbers. Players must balance trap placement with direct combat to survive the relentless assaults.

  • Prioritize traps that affect large groups early in the wave.
  • Watch the orc pathing to place defenses where they cluster.

02 / THE GUIDE

War Machines

War Machines are oversized traps that deliver massive firepower, such as mega flip traps and boom barrel launchers. They allow players to launch dozens of ragdolling orcs at once.

These machines supplement the standard arsenal, giving the firepower needed to handle the larger hordes presented in War Scenarios.

  • Combine a mega flip trap with a boom barrel launcher for combo damage.
  • Position machines where they can hit the longest stretch of the enemy path.

Co‑op Play

The game supports two‑player co‑op, either locally or online, letting friends share the trap‑laying duties. Both players can use the full arsenal of weapons and traps.

Co‑op mode also works with full controller support and Remote Play on TV, offering flexible ways to team up.

  • Communicate trap placement to avoid overlapping effects.
  • Divide roles: one focuses on traps, the other on direct weapon attacks.

Endless & Scramble Modes

Endless Mode continues spawning orcs long after the story ends, challenging players to survive as long as possible. Weekly Challenges add a competitive leaderboard element.

Scramble Mode pits players against evolving orcs that gain new tricks each level, while granting modifiers that players can collect to aid their defense.

  • In Endless, focus on upgrading traps that have the highest damage per second.
  • In Scramble, adapt quickly to new enemy abilities by swapping modifiers between waves.

Progression & Upgrades

Orcs Must Die! 3 includes more traps, weapons, and upgrades than its predecessors, allowing players to enhance their arsenal over time. The Drastic Steps campaign and free content add extra enemies and tools.

Steam features such as Achievements, Leaderboards, and Trading Cards provide additional goals and community interaction.

  • Complete weekly challenges to unlock higher‑tier upgrades faster.
  • Experiment with new tools from the Drastic Steps content to find effective combos.
