About Nuclear Option

Nuclear Option is a combat flight game that places you in a near‑future battlefield where every aircraft behaves with realistic physics. You can pilot thirteen distinct planes and helicopters, each featuring a cockpit HUD that shows targets, flight parameters and threat information. The game includes a mission editor, solo and multiplayer modes, and supports mouse, keyboard and various controllers. Large maps, dynamic damage, and even simulated nuclear blast effects create a persistent, chaotic warzone for both cooperative and competitive play.

01 / THE GUIDE

Realistic Flight Physics

Each aircraft is built from up to 50 individually simulated physics parts, delivering stalls, spins and g‑force effects that mirror real flight dynamics.

The flight HUD displays angle of attack, velocity vector, climb rate, G‑force and radar altitude, giving you precise situational awareness.

  • Adjust your throttle gradually to avoid unexpected stalls.
  • Use the HUD parameters to fine‑tune your approach angles during dogfights.

02 / THE GUIDE

Detailed Damage Model

A highly detailed damage system tracks 30‑50 detachable parts per aircraft, and each damaged component directly influences handling and performance.

Wreckage and smoke linger on the battlefield, providing visual cues of ongoing destruction.

  • Prioritise repairing critical control surfaces after a hit.
  • Target enemy engines to cripple their maneuverability.

Mission Editor

The included editor lets you design custom scenarios, set objectives and choose any of the thirteen playable aircraft.

Created missions can be flown solo or shared for multiplayer PVP or PVE sessions.

  • Test your mission with a single AI opponent before publishing.
  • Use night‑vision cockpit settings for atmospheric night missions.

04 / THE GUIDE

Player‑Hosted Multiplayer

A public lobby browser lets you host or join cooperative and competitive matches, supporting both PvP and PvE engagements.

Multiplayer battles feature AI ground vehicles and aircraft that interact with player actions on persistent maps.

  • Check the lobby description for map type before joining.
  • Coordinate with teammates to manage the large 100 km‑wide battlefield.

05 / THE GUIDE

Weapons Arsenal & Nuclear Options

You have access to guns, air‑to‑air and air‑to‑ground missiles, bombs, cruise and ballistic missiles, plus guided and unguided ordnance.

Nuclear weapons are simulated with accurate blast shockwave propagation, adding a strategic layer to large‑scale engagements.

  • Use counter‑measures like IR flares when locked on by missiles.
  • Reserve nuclear strikes for tightly clustered enemy formations.
