About Noble Fates

Noble Fates places you in a fantasy realm where every resident holds personal ambitions, memories and opinions that shape the unfolding story. You begin with a small group of Dwarves, Elves, Orcs, Halflings or Humans and guide them as they grow into a lasting kingdom.

The simulation tracks how your chosen beliefs, diplomatic actions and military threats affect relationships with neighboring peoples, while a recurring demonic breach adds a distinct combat challenge. Managing resources, loyalty and succession determines whether your realm thrives or collapses.

01 / THE GUIDE

Kingdom Building

Construction can range from stacking bricks to carving strongholds directly into rock, and a branching technology tree governs what you can erect. You may assign homes to nobles, allowing them to organise labour and loot, or you can micromanage every task yourself.

Food production, animal husbandry, foraging, hunting and trade are all ways to keep the treasury and stores full. When travelers arrive you can offer shelter, rent rooms for profit, or imprison them for later use.

  • Compare a fully delegated settlement with a hands‑on approach to see which yields steadier resources.
  • Observe how accepting versus imprisoning visitors influences your income and reputation.

02 / THE GUIDE

Noble Loyalty

Nobles possess distinct memories and opinions that form the basis of their allegiance. Providing them with treasure, adequate housing and sufficient food improves their willingness to follow orders.

If you align their personal beliefs with the crown, or persuade the crown to adopt theirs, loyalty strengthens; neglect can cause desertion, the founding of rival realms, or betrayal during combat.

  • Track a noble’s recorded memories to anticipate potential disloyalty.
  • Balance monetary rewards with housing upgrades to help maintain stronger loyalty.

03 / THE GUIDE

Belief System

Your kingdom adopts a set of doctrines—such as benevolent, ruthless, cannibalistic or mixed—and recruits subjects who share those values. Neighboring realms evaluate you based on how closely your doctrines match theirs and on past interactions.

You can influence foreign leaders through diplomatic talks, forceful actions, or ceremonial feasts, and the degree of belief alignment directly affects trade terms, alliances and hostility levels.

  • Test how matching a neighbor’s doctrine changes the trade offers you receive.
  • Use feasts strategically to shift a rival’s perception of your kingdom’s values.

04 / THE GUIDE

Warfare & Breach

Bandits, wild beasts and hostile armies regularly assault your walls, while demonic portals periodically open, releasing waves of enemies. These breaches spawn creatures that must be repelled to protect your stronghold.

During a breach you can directly control a mage in third‑person view, launching magical projectiles to counter the onslaught, defeat a demon dragon and then seal the portal, dividing any loot afterward.

  • Compare outcomes when relying solely on troops versus adding mage control.
  • Watch the timing of enemy waves to plan optimal mage positioning.

05 / THE GUIDE

Succession & Heirs

The realm persists as long as a ruler wears the crown. You can raise heirs, train them, and decide whether to pass the title to a firstborn or select another candidate, even outside the bloodline.

When a monarch dies, longstanding feuds may end, but unresolved grievances can reappear, altering noble opinions and spawning fresh conflicts.

  • Note how a new ruler’s background immediately shifts noble sentiment.
  • Experiment with non‑blood succession to see if it reduces inherited feuds.
