About No Time

No Time is a time‑travel simulator that lets you type any date from 1 AD onward and explore Pine Island across eras. The world shifts with each period, offering stories, myths, quests, and a main narrative of about twelve hours.

Multiplayer lets friends join via a peer‑to‑peer system, while a mod‑friendly workshop lets you tweak your time machine. The game blends simulation, action, and RPG elements, featuring day/night cycles, weather, crafting, and a procedural family‑tree that reacts to the era you visit.

01 / THE GUIDE

Time Travel Mechanics

Players can type any date from 1 AD onward to jump to that moment on Pine Island. The system tracks your movements, warning you to avoid encountering your past self.

Time Agents patrol the past, seeking any hint of the player to eliminate them, adding a risk element to each jump.

  • Observe the timeline before jumping to gauge potential Agent activity.
  • Plan routes that keep you out of sight of your earlier self.

02 / THE GUIDE

Open World Changes

The island’s layout, inhabitants, and events shift according to the selected time period, creating distinct experiences for each era. Economic conditions influence NPC behavior, such as turning to crime in tougher years.

These changes affect quests, side stories, and the overall atmosphere, making each visit feel unique.

  • Compare the same location across different dates to notice environmental shifts.
  • Use the changing economy to anticipate NPC actions.

03 / THE GUIDE

Procedural Family Tree System

NPCs generate family trees that evolve: they marry, have children, and can die. Their life paths may diverge into criminal activity depending on the era’s economic situation.

This dynamic creates emergent stories and influences the world you explore, as descendants may appear in later periods.

  • Track key families to see how their fortunes change over time.
  • Notice how economic shifts correlate with criminal outcomes.

04 / THE GUIDE

Day, Night, Weather & Seasons

A full day‑and‑night cycle runs alongside weather patterns and seasonal changes, affecting visibility and ambience. Special in‑world events may trigger under certain conditions.

These environmental factors shape the island's ambience, and special in-world events may occur as you explore.

  • Plan time‑sensitive tasks during daylight for better visibility.
  • Watch the weather to see how conditions change around you.

05 / THE GUIDE

Crafting and Workshop Support

Players can craft weapons, time chips, and other items to access special locations in time. The time machine itself is modifiable, with Steam Workshop integration for community creations.

Crafted items expand gameplay options, while workshop content lets you personalize your machine’s capabilities.

  • Experiment with different crafting recipes to discover unique time‑chip effects.
  • Browse workshop mods for alternative machine designs.
