About No More Room in Hell 2
No More Room in Hell 2 puts you in the role of an emergency Responder, exploring dark, zombie‑infested locations across the Northeast United States. Up to eight players cooperate online, using proximity voice chat and shared resources while avoiding infection and death.
The game features two distinct modes, a reactive undead horde, scarce ammunition, and a progression system that upgrades gear and perks after each successful extraction. Full controller support and cross‑platform multiplayer let friends join from different systems.
01 / THE GUIDE
Scenario Mode and Objectives
Scenario Mode sends Responders into six richly‑crafted maps, each set at a different time of day and featuring themed objectives. Locations include Lewiston, Maine; Broadway, New York; industrial sites in Pennsylvania; Beaulieu Hospital; and a government bunker.
Players must arm themselves, complete critical tasks, and extract supplies. Successful missions improve starting gear and unlock perks that carry over to future deployments, rewarding careful planning and teamwork.
- Check each map’s objective list before moving forward.
- Coordinate extraction timing so all teammates can share loot.

Permadeath and Infection Mechanics
During missions a Responder can die, ending that deployment permanently. The game does not allow revival, so death removes that character from the current round.
The undead can also infect players, prompting a race to find pills or a gene‑therapy cure before turning. Surviving missions grants upgraded gear and perks that persist for the same Responder in later rounds.
- Carry at least one antidote item in every loadout.
- Stay near teammates who can hand you a cure quickly.

Dynamic, Reactive Horde
Zombies react to sound; a single noise can trigger a full‑scale horde response. Multiple zombie types require players to stay ahead, as crowds can quickly become overwhelming.
Managing noise and positioning is essential. Every sound you make in the hushed darkness can cascade into full conflict, so careful movement and quiet weapons help control swarm size.
- Move quietly and favor melee when possible.
- Plan escape routes before engaging large groups.

Arsenal and Combat Tools
Ammo is scarce, so players balance professional firearms with improvised weapons such as crowbars. Attachments like sights, scopes, and suppressors improve effectiveness, while explosives, molotovs, and proximity bombs offer tactical alternatives.
A dynamic gore system visualizes each wound, reinforcing the visceral nature of combat. Planning encounters and using tools like bombs can reduce reliance on limited ammunition.
- Conserve ammo by using melee on isolated walkers.
- Equip suppressors to lower noise and horde attraction.

Co‑op and Cross‑Platform Play
The game supports eight‑player online co‑op with proximity voice chat, encouraging teamwork and resource sharing. Cross‑platform multiplayer lets players on different systems join the same session.
Full controller support includes DualShock and DualSense on Windows, and Steam Cloud saves progress while achievements track milestones across play sessions.
- Use voice chat to call out horde locations and loot.
- Synchronize loadouts before missions to balance team capabilities.
