About Murky Divers

Murky Divers drops you into a dark ocean where a team of up to eight pilots a submarine to clear abandoned Pharma Corps labs. The core goal is to retrieve corpses, shred them for credits, and survive the lurking threats while managing limited oxygen.

Players can choose a solo dive, a two‑person sub, a four‑person regular sub, or a full eight‑person crew. Between runs you spend earned credits on items, upgrades, and modules, and you can unlock new diving suits for visual variety.

01 / THE GUIDE

Submarine Types

The game provides three submarine sizes: a small sub for solo or two‑player play, a regular sub supporting up to four players, and a large sub that can hold five to eight crew members. The size determines how many teammates can cooperate on a single dive.

All submarines are blind; pilots must rely on sonar and station cues to navigate. Larger crews give more players the chance to assist with piloting, caddie operation, and threat monitoring.

  • Assign a dedicated pilot early to keep navigation focused.
  • Use the large sub when you have a full group to share responsibilities.

02 / THE GUIDE

Resource Management

Oxygen is a finite resource that can run out quicker when the sub encounters dangers. Players must monitor oxygen levels and plan routes to avoid depletion before returning to safety.

Credits are earned by shredding retrieved bodies. Those credits can be spent on items, upgrades, and modules that improve survivability on future expeditions.

  • Prioritize quick retrieval of bodies to limit oxygen use.
  • Save credits for essential upgrades such as deeper‑depth modules.

Upgrades and Modules

Players can purchase upgrades like see‑through vision, body part detectors, and grappling hooks to aid navigation and threat detection. These upgrades are applied to the diver’s equipment before each dive.

Ship modules increase capabilities such as maximum depth, larger fishing nets, and other functional enhancements, allowing crews to tackle more challenging wrecks.

  • Upgrade vision tools first to reduce blind navigation risks.
  • Add depth modules before attempting deeper wrecks.

Multiplayer Features

Murky Divers supports online co‑op for up to eight players and includes proximity voice chat and immersive 3D audio, helping crews coordinate actions in the dark underwater environment.

Steam features such as Cloud saves, Leaderboards, and Workshop integration are available, allowing players to keep progress, compare scores, and share custom content.

  • Use proximity voice chat to call out threats quickly.
  • Check leaderboards for high‑score strategies.

05 / THE GUIDE

Audio & Visual Immersion

The game includes procedurally generated wrecks, providing varied environments for each dive. Thalassophobia is freely included, meaning the underwater atmosphere can be intense for players who enjoy that feeling.

Full controller support is listed for DualShock and DualSense, and Steam Cloud ensures progress is saved across devices.

  • Adjust audio settings to hear sonar cues more clearly.
  • Explore different wreck layouts to learn hazard patterns.
