About MoteMancer

MoteMancer is a fantasy automation game that spans six overlapping Elemental planes, each procedurally generated and traversable in real time. Players build on a hex grid, using tools like Mana Roots, Mana Leaves, and Streamways to gather sun power and move ingredients.

The game blends alchemical research, element‑specific mechanics, and an ever‑present threat called Entropy. By combining ingredients, structures, and spells, you can reshape the world, unlock new tools, and create synergistic effects across the planes.

01 / THE GUIDE

Hex Grid Automation

The core of MoteMancer’s gameplay is arranging structures on a hex grid. Placement matters because many structures reward clever positioning and planning. Automation emerges as you connect tools and ingredients across the grid.

Dozens of unique structures exist, each interacting with the grid in distinct ways. By linking them efficiently, you can create self‑sustaining loops that generate mana and process ingredients without constant micromanagement.

  • Experiment with different layouts to see which structures complement each other best.
  • Observe how the hex adjacency influences ingredient flow and adjust accordingly.

02 / THE GUIDE

Element‑Specific Tools

Each Elemental plane offers its own tools, such as Mana Roots and Mana Leaves that harvest solar power. Streamways let you transport ingredients across your base, while other tools are tied to specific elements.

These tools encourage distinct solutions per plane, and combining them can produce powerful synergies. Mastering each element’s toolkit is key to advancing through the planes.

  • Focus on mastering one element’s tools before mixing them with another.
  • Compare the output of Mana Roots versus Mana Leaves to decide which fits your design.

03 / THE GUIDE

Ingredient‑Based Alchemy Research

Research in MoteMancer is driven by ingredients you collect and infuse through alchemy. Multiple research lines can run simultaneously, letting you uncover hidden potentials of ingredients.

Infusing ingredients reveals new recipes and tools, turning experimentation into a systematic discovery process. The more diverse your ingredient pool, the richer the research outcomes.

  • Gather a wide variety of ingredients early to broaden research options.
  • Track which infusions yield new tools and prioritize those combinations.

04 / THE GUIDE

Elemental Arsenal Spells

Spells form the Elemental Arsenal, letting you nudge structures, levitate across terrain, or even control the sun with Daycaller. Magic is integrated into puzzles, not just a power source.

Learning spells expands how you interact with the grid and the environment, adding another layer of strategic depth to automation and construction.

  • Test spells on simple structures first to understand their effects.
  • Try using Levitate to cross terrain while planning how Streamways move your ingredients.

05 / THE GUIDE

Entropy – The Creeping Adversary

Entropy constantly tears through reality, challenging the resilience of your automated systems. It acts as an ongoing threat that tests the resilience of your systems.

Designing robust loops and redundancy helps mitigate Entropy’s impact, turning its pressure into a test of how well your systems can adapt and survive.

  • Build backup pathways for critical ingredient flows.
  • Monitor Entropy’s activity and reinforce vulnerable structures preemptively.
