01 / THE GUIDE
Character Roles
Eight distinct thieves are listed, each with a signature ability such as the Locksmith’s infiltration skill or the Hacker’s virus attacks. These roles determine how a player can interact with doors, guards, and security systems.
Because each character behaves differently, selecting a crew that covers a range of abilities—stealth, combat, and technical—helps address the varied challenges presented by each heist map.
- Pair a stealth‑focused thief with a combat‑oriented one to handle both silent entry and unexpected guards.
- Try different team combos in co‑op to discover which abilities complement each other best.

Multiplayer Modes
Monaco allows up to four players to join either online or on the same screen, offering cooperative play where teammates share a heist and competitive play via daily leaderboards.
Both online and split‑screen options use the same core mechanics, so the experience remains consistent regardless of connection type.
- Use split‑screen for quick local sessions without network setup.
- Check the daily leaderboard to see how your team ranks against others.

Level Editor & Workshop
A built‑in level editor lets players design custom heist maps, which can be uploaded to the Steam Workshop for community sharing, extending replayability beyond the base missions.
The editor is listed as a feature, indicating that players can create and share maps directly through Steam without needing external tools.
- Start with a simple layout before adding complex traps.
- Test your map in single‑player mode to ensure balance before publishing.

Steam features such as achievements, trading cards, Cloud sync, and family sharing are integrated, allowing progress and entitlements to follow the player’s Steam account.
- Enable Steam Cloud to keep your progress synced across devices.
- Use family sharing to let multiple accounts access the game without extra purchases.
