About Mist Survival
Mist Survival drops you into a post‑viral world where you are immune but must fend for yourself. You gather food, build shelters, and protect a camp from wildlife, bandits and infected creatures that appear in dense, dynamic fog.
The game blends sandbox survival with a day‑night cycle, crafting, base building and NPC management. You can recruit survivors, tend animals, and defend your camp while exploring forests, villages and hidden areas under ever‑changing weather.
01 / THE GUIDE
Dynamic Fog, Weather, and Day‑Night Cycle
Mist can appear at any time, creating a dense environment that triggers events such as infected hunters emerging. The fog works together with a day‑night cycle, where night and lack of sunshine allow mutated infected to roam.
Weather changes dynamically, influencing visibility and the behavior of both enemies and wildlife. These systems together shape the risk level of exploration and camp defense.
- Observe fog patterns to anticipate infected encounters.
- Use daylight for safer travel when possible.

Crafting and Base Building
You can craft items and construct a base using generators and electrical appliances. Building shelters and camps provides a place to store food, house survivors and protect against attacks.
Base components can be expanded with animal husbandry areas and traps, allowing you to produce resources and defend against bandits or infected threats.
- Prioritize power generation early to enable appliances.
- Integrate traps around entry points for passive defense.

Survivor and NPC Management
You can recruit other survivors to join your camp, assigning them roles and managing their needs. NPCs include allies, bandits, infected, and animals, each with distinct AI behaviors.
Future updates aim to make survivor AI more complex, adding depth to interactions and camp dynamics.
- Balance survivor numbers with available resources.
- Monitor AI behavior to anticipate bandit raids.

Character Survival Status
Your character tracks sickness and wound status, requiring medical attention and proper clothing to mitigate effects. Equipment and clothing systems affect how you cope with environmental hazards.
Time mechanics let you sleep or accelerate time for activities, influencing how quickly status effects develop or heal.
- Keep clothing appropriate for weather to reduce sickness risk.
- Use sleep to pass time quickly while your character rests.

World Exploration, Stealth and Takedowns
The world includes forests, villages, military camps, small towns and hidden areas. You can move stealthily, using takedown mechanics to avoid detection by bandits, animals or infected.
Driving vehicles and setting small traps expand your options for navigating and securing locations during exploration.
- Utilize stealth in foggy conditions to bypass enemies.
- Place traps near choke points before entering high‑risk zones.
