About Mindustry
Mindustry blends factory construction, tower‑defense, and real‑time strategy into a single experience. Players design supply chains, equip turrets, and produce units to protect a core while expanding territory across two planetary campaigns.
Cross‑platform multiplayer lets friends on Windows, macOS, and Linux cooperate or compete, while the Steam Workshop, map editor, and custom server rules extend the game with community content and endless variations.
01 / THE GUIDE
Factory Building
Mindustry lets you lay conveyor belts that transport extracted resources to processing blocks, forming supply chains that connect mines, smelters, and factories.
These chains deliver ammunition to turrets, provide raw material for construction, and can include optional coolant or lubricant to improve machine efficiency.
- Use parallel belts to increase throughput.
- Place splitters early to distribute resources to multiple lines.
02 / THE GUIDE
Tower Defense
Defending the core requires placing turrets along enemy paths so they can engage foes before reaching the central structure.
Turrets need a continuous supply of ammo and power, and you may add coolant or support blocks such as powered shields and regeneration projectors for added resilience.
- Overlap turret ranges to cover blind spots.
- Add powered shields near high‑damage wave entry points.

03 / THE GUIDE
Real Time Strategy
Assembly lines convert raw resources into mechanized units, allowing you to build drones, mechs, or ships directly from production blocks.
These units can be ordered to capture enemy cores, expand your territory, and unlock additional resource nodes for further factory growth.
- Maintain a mix of cheap scouts and heavier assault units.
- Schedule unit production after securing sufficient raw material flow.
04 / THE GUIDE
Campaign
The campaign spans two planets, Serpulo and Erekir, featuring 35 hand‑made maps and over 250 procedurally generated sectors to explore.
Players capture sectors, defend against periodic invasions, and use launch pads to transport resources between distant bases, linking production across the map.
- Prioritize core defense before expanding to new sectors.
- Establish launch pads early to secure inter‑sector supply lines.

Community & Modding
The Steam Workshop provides community‑made maps, schematics, and mods, expanding gameplay options beyond the base content.
Public or private servers can apply custom rules, plugins, and rule changes such as block costs, enemy stats, or wave timing to tailor difficulty.
- Test a new map from the workshop before hosting a session.
- Adjust enemy wave timing to match your preferred challenge level.
