About MINDHACK
MINDHACK is a text‑adventure where you play as the Doctor, a genius hacker tasked with erasing destructive impulses—called BUGs—from the souls of evildoers. By typing code you unlock memories, rewrite minds, and turn hostile characters into harmless citizens.
The game blends a dystopian setting with fantasy elements, featuring a cast that includes a sea‑urchin gang leader, a cult fanatic who believes he is a cabinet, and an alien monster. You work alongside a supercomputer and a security force to stop the ultimate BUG, the “FATAL ERROR”, before it ends the world.

Story and Setting
MINDHACK’s narrative follows the Doctor, whose duty is to remove BUGs—destructive impulses hidden within people’s souls. The adventure unfolds in an institution created solely to deal with these BUGs, set against a world that mixes modern society with fantasy. The plot escalates as you confront the catastrophic BUG known as “FATAL ERROR”, racing against time to prevent it from destroying the world.
- Observe each character’s backstory; their memories often hint at the keywords needed for rewriting.
- Compare the personalities of evildoers to spot patterns that may simplify the typing sequences.

Character Interaction
During the adventure portion you meet a unique cast of evildoers, each with distinct appearances and backgrounds, such as a sea‑urchin gang leader or a cult fanatic who thinks he’s a cabinet. The Doctor’s hands are always displayed on screen, adding animated flair to conversations. Interactions are text‑driven, and the Doctor’s animated hands embellish these conversations before the hacking phase begins.
- Take note of the quirky traits each character displays; they often affect the tone of dialogue.
- Use the on‑screen hand animations as visual cues for when a conversation is active.

Hacking Mechanics
The hacking portion requires you to type out code that unlocks an evildoer’s memories, letting you explore their past. After understanding who they really are, a typing sequence begins where you input keywords linked to their souls, transforming them into flowers and rendering them harmless. This process is purely text‑based; you type to change evildoers for good and rewrite their minds.
- Read the memory logs carefully; subtle details can suggest the correct keywords.
- Practice the typing sequences in a quiet environment to reduce errors.
