About Mesmalie
Mesmalie is an occult visual novel that mixes point‑and‑click exploration with branching dialogue. You awaken to a fire caused by uncontrolled Magick and travel to a remote witches’ coven where your training begins.
The game presents three distinct “sessions” that each focus on a different style of Magick practice, a chapter‑select feature for moving to any story beat, and multiple endings, including those that appear when the story is left unfinished.

Handcrafted Narrative
The story is delivered through a handcrafted point‑and‑click narrative. Dialogue options appear as choices that the player can select, and each selection is described as impactful, meaning it can change the direction of the tale.
Because the dialogue is branching, the game can produce different conclusions. The description notes that ending variations exist, indicating that the narrative tracks the path taken through these choices.
- Watch how characters respond after each dialogue selection; the reactions often hint at future consequences.
- If you notice a recurring theme in the witches’ advice, note it—it may relate to later Magick lessons.

Magick Training Sessions
Mesmalie includes three separate sessions, each described as having a distinct gameplay style intended to train your Magick ability. The sessions are presented as self‑contained segments that focus on different aspects of spell practice.
Progressing through the sessions introduces new mechanics for interacting with objects. The description implies that each session offers a distinct gameplay style for training your Magick ability.
- Treat each session as a short tutorial; completing one before moving to the next helps you notice new spell behaviours.
- Compare the way spells affect objects across sessions to identify any consistent patterns.

Interactable Objects
Many objects in each scene are marked as interactable, providing places to practice your Magick. The description states that these objects are used for spell practice, so interacting with them triggers some form of feedback.
Because the objects are numerous, the game encourages experimentation. Observing which objects respond to a spell can reveal how the Magick system interprets different items.
- When you encounter a new object, try a basic spell first to see if it reacts.
- Group objects that behave similarly; this can help you infer underlying Magick rules.

Chapter Select System
A chapter‑select feature lets players jump directly to any desired story beat. This system is described as convenient, meaning you can move to earlier or later points without replaying the entire game.
The ability to select chapters supports revisiting choices. By returning to a previous beat after learning new spells, you can see whether additional options become available.
- Use chapter select to compare the outcome of a decision made earlier with a later decision made after gaining new spells.
- If you suspect a hidden interaction, return to the relevant chapter after completing a session.

Ending Variations
The game includes multiple endings, and the description specifically mentions variations that trigger when the story is abandoned mid‑play. The description notes ending variations exist for abandoning the story in the middle.
Because abandonment produces its own endings, the game encourages players to experiment with stopping at different moments to see how the story resolves without a conventional conclusion.
- If you want to see an abandonment ending, pause the game at a moment that feels pivotal and then quit.
- After receiving an abandonment ending, note which choices were made up to that point; this can clarify what the game considered when forming that ending.
