About MEGAKO☆PUNCH!

MEGAKO☆PUNCH! blends Blackjack mechanics with deck‑building roguelite combat. Players flip cards from their deck, aiming to total exactly 21; hitting the target adds a powerful Ultimate Card, while exceeding it busts the turn. Energy lets you retrieve flipped cards or draw new ones, shaping each turn’s strategy.

Runs last about twenty minutes and feature a single Story stage, three Challenge stages, and a Sandbox mode unlocked after beating the game. Items dropped by enemies unlock additional Ultimate Cards, encouraging varied deck builds and replayability.

01 / THE GUIDE

Blackjack‑Inspired Turn Structure

Each turn begins by flipping cards from your deck one at a time. You may stop flipping whenever you choose, then lock in your actions. The goal is to reach a total of exactly 21; doing so grants an Ultimate Card, while exceeding 21 results in a bust and loss of the turn.

Cards you lock in can be played without spending Energy, letting you execute attacks or defenses immediately. This risk‑reward loop drives every decision, as you balance the desire for powerful Ultimates against the danger of busting.

  • Observe the values of flipped cards early; stopping before you see a high‑value card can prevent a bust.
  • When you’re close to 21, consider whether the potential Ultimate outweighs the risk of losing the turn.

02 / THE GUIDE

Energy Use and Card Retrieval

Energy is the resource that lets you flip new cards from your deck and return previously flipped cards to your hand. Spending Energy to draw more cards expands your options, while returning cards lets you keep useful ones for later turns.

Cards already in your hand can be played at any time without spending Energy, so managing Energy efficiently determines how many new possibilities you can explore each turn.

  • Reserve a small amount of Energy each turn for the option to retrieve a key card you may need later.
  • If you have a strong hand already, conserve Energy and focus on playing those cards.

03 / THE GUIDE

Ultimate Cards and Their Impact

Landing exactly 21 adds a powerful Ultimate Card to your hand. These cards are designed to deliver high damage or strong effects, often turning the tide of a battle when used at the right moment.

Because Ultimates are limited by the Blackjack condition, timing their acquisition and deployment becomes a central strategic element.

  • Plan your flips so that an Ultimate arrives when you have enough Energy to play it immediately.
  • Build around Items whose unlock conditions suit your strategy for maximum impact.

04 / THE GUIDE

Items Unlocking New Ultimates

Defeated monsters occasionally drop special Items. Each Item carries unique conditions that, when met, unlock new Ultimate Cards, expanding your deck‑building options.

These unlocks enable distinct playstyles, such as multi‑hit Drill builds or Missile strategies that benefit from larger hands.

  • Focus on enemies that drop Items matching the deck archetype you wish to pursue.
  • Experiment with different Items across runs to discover which Ultimates best suit your style.

05 / THE GUIDE

Story, Challenge, and Sandbox Modes

The game includes one Story stage and three additional Challenge stages. Beating the game unlocks Sandbox Mode, where players can take on even greater challenges.

All modes are designed for short, intense runs, keeping each playthrough around twenty minutes.

  • Use Sandbox runs to experiment with new Item‑based decks before tackling Challenge stages.
  • Treat the Story stage as a tutorial for mastering the 21‑target mechanic.
