Master Detective Archives: RAIN CODE Plus is a dark-fantasy detective action game from the creators of the Danganronpa series. Trainee detective Yuma, accompanied by Shinigami, investigates a rain-soaked city under megacorporation control, working alongside Master Detectives from around the world whose unique powers help uncover the truth.
The Plus edition runs on Windows with 4K compatibility and improved performance, adds a gallery mode for cinematics and BGM, and includes five extra substories centered on different Master Detectives. The Steam listing notes full controller support, achievements, Steam Cloud, trading cards, and family sharing.

Investigation Mode
In Investigation Mode you control Yuma as he moves through Kanai Ward, speaking with citizens and examining crime scenes. The objective is to gather "Solution Keys," which act as evidence for later use.
Accompanying detectives each have a "Forensic Forte" such as Postcognition or Disguise. These special abilities help find hidden clues and testimonies during exploration.
- Talk to everyone in an area and examine crime scenes thoroughly before moving on.
- Pay attention to which detective's Forte is highlighted during exploration and use it when prompted.

Mystery Labyrinth
When enough evidence is collected, the Mystery Labyrinth appears, turning case details into traps and gimmicks. Players must dodge these hazards using the Solution Keys they have gathered.
The labyrinth features a fast-paced "Reasoning Death Match" where a Mystery Phantom attacks, and you respond with a Solution Blade in an action sequence.
- Dodge labyrinth traps by making full use of the Solution Keys collected during the investigation phase.
- Stay mobile during the Reasoning Death Match to avoid the Phantom's attacks.

Forensic Fortes
Each Master Detective brings a unique Forensic Forte, such as Postcognition or Disguise. These abilities help find hidden clues and testimonies that would otherwise remain concealed.
Using these Fortes during exploration supports the collection of Solution Keys, which are then applied in the Mystery Labyrinth.
- Observe which Forte reveals the most clues in each area and prioritize its use.
- Note the testimonies and hidden clues each Forte uncovers to build a fuller case file.

Additional Content
Memory Shards are hidden throughout Kanai Ward; collecting them unlocks secret memories between Yuma and the detectives, adding optional narrative depth.
Five substories focus on different Master Detectives—Desuhiko, Fubuki, Halara, Vivia, and Yakou—offering extra dialogue, tasks, and character moments beyond the main plot. Special requests also let you help people in need.
- Explore side streets and optional rooms to increase the chance of finding Memory Shards.
- Complete each substory to experience the full range of detective personalities.
