About Magecraft: Spellbuilding

Magecraft: Spellbuilding is a deck‑building game where you craft spell cards from a pool of over 50 Sigils and assemble unique decks for turn‑based combat. Randomized dungeon layouts, enemy encounters, passive powers and scrolls make each run feel fresh.

You explore three themed dungeons, each offering distinct enemies, powers, scrolls and event choices. A separate Abyss mode adds randomized characters and starting decks, and death forces a brand‑new run from the start.

01 / THE GUIDE

Custom Spell Crafting

Players combine Sigils—effects that deal damage, apply debuffs, grant buffs, summon allies, and more—to create personalized spell cards. Over 50 Sigils are available, giving a broad range of tactical options for deck construction.

The crafted cards become the core of your deck, influencing how you handle enemy attacks and decide whether to absorb damage or strike back aggressively.

  • Experiment with mixed damage and buff Sigils for versatile cards.
  • Consider synergy between debuff and summon Sigils to control enemy boards.

Dungeon Variability

Each run features randomized Dungeon layouts, enemy encounters, passive powers, and scrolls, ensuring no two experiences are identical. This randomness shapes strategic decisions throughout the adventure.

Three distinct, themed dungeons provide unique enemy sets, powers, scrolls, and event choices, adding variety to the overall progression.

  • Adapt your deck to the specific powers and scrolls you encounter.
  • Use event choices to steer toward favorable passive powers.

Character Customisation

When creating a character you can select appearances, color palettes, and unique Background powers. New character colors and characters with powerful abilities become unlockable as you progress.

These visual and functional options let you personalise both the look and the underlying abilities of your avatar.

  • Try different Background powers to discover complementary playstyles.
  • Mix color palettes for a distinct visual identity.

Combat Strategies

During turn‑based combat you can either block enemy attacks to stay safe or take hits and retaliate for maximum damage. Deck composition directly influences which approach is viable.

Balancing defensive and offensive cards lets you react to the unpredictable enemy patterns generated by the randomised encounters.

  • Include a few high‑damage spells for aggressive bursts.
  • Add defensive or mitigation cards to survive tougher foes.

05 / THE GUIDE

Abyss Mode

Abyss is a separate mode featuring randomized characters and starting decks. Unlike the main game, death in Abyss forces you to begin a completely new run.

This mode emphasizes replayability through fresh character builds each attempt, testing your adaptability with unfamiliar decks.

  • Treat each Abyss run as a learning experiment for new deck ideas.
  • Focus on flexible Sigils that work across varied character abilities.
