About Low Magic Age

Low Magic Age is a medieval fantasy RPG that mixes an open‑world sandbox with turn‑based tactical combat. Players build heroes, explore villages, towns, and randomly generated dungeons while handling trade, quests, and reputation.

The game also includes an Arena mode that emphasizes fast‑paced battles with fog of war, charging, flanking, and a variety of monsters, equipment, and spells derived from classic tabletop rules.

01 / THE GUIDE

Adventure Mode

The sandbox world is replayable and contains varied landforms, settlements of different sizes, and random dungeons such as caves and ancient ruins. In towns and cities players can replenish supplies, purchase equipment, and use other services.

Town quests appear regularly, allowing adventurers to improve reputation and relationships with locals. Trade goods are distributed by region, so buying a local specialty and reselling it in a distant settlement can generate profit.

  • Check several settlements for the same trade good before buying to gauge price differences.
  • Complete early town quests to unlock better reputation benefits.

02 / THE GUIDE

Arena Mode

Arena mode delivers fast‑paced turn‑based combat with looting and character development. It features field of view, fog of war, charging, flanking, and other combat maneuvers.

The UI displays hit percentages and damage ranges, while mechanics such as full‑attack, covering, and prone provide additional tactical choices during battles.

  • Use fog of war to hide your units until they can act from a favorable position.
  • Position units to flank enemies for higher hit chances.

Monsters and Tactics

The game includes over 100 monsters across seven categories, including goblins, trolls, giant ants, and basilisks. Each creature type requires its own approach to defeat.

Combat modifiers such as charging, covering, and prone affect outcomes, encouraging players to adapt tactics like positioning and weapon choice for each encounter.

  • Identify a monster’s category before engaging to select appropriate tactics.
  • Use covering when facing ranged monsters to reduce incoming damage.

04 / THE GUIDE

Equipment and Items

There are 60+ common items, 90+ wondrous items, and 80+ enchantments. Weapons are classified as slashing, piercing, or bludgeoning, each effective against certain monster types.

Notable artifacts such as Gloves of Dexterity, Counterstrike Bracers, Ring of Regeneration, Belt of Magnificence, and Cloak of Thorns can be collected to shape a heroic character.

  • Match weapon type to a monster’s weakness for higher damage.
  • Consider the listed enchantments when customizing gear.

05 / THE GUIDE

Skills and Spells

Fighter classes have a variety of martial‑arts movements beyond basic attacks, while caster classes feature arcane and divine spells that have been improved for the digital version.

All abilities are built on rules adapted from the Open Game License, providing a familiar tabletop feel within the computer game.

  • Review each martial‑arts move to understand its range and effect.
  • Read spell descriptions to learn situational strengths.
