About Lootbound

Lootbound is a single‑player adventure where each run begins with only the main hero. You traverse a map, selecting routes that promise valuable loot while encountering companions who join the fight.

The game mixes RPG and strategy elements: you manage distinct equipment pools for the hero and each ally, arrange items to trigger aura interactions, and assemble a final Guardian from boss parts before confronting the ultimate challenge.

01 / THE GUIDE

Run Structure and Loot Routes

Every session starts with the hero alone, and you move across a map that offers multiple paths. Choosing a route shapes the loot you can obtain, and special rooms offer riskier options with more valuable rewards.

At the conclusion of each biome you are presented with two boss‑part options. Selecting one alters the appearance and power of the Guardian that will later become the final boss.

  • Map out routes that cross several biomes to increase the number of boss‑part choices.
  • Balance the risk of tougher paths against the potential for higher‑value loot.

02 / THE GUIDE

Equipment System and Rotation

You must gather a separate collection of gear for the hero and for each companion. Items are not locked to fixed slots, allowing you to rotate and place them wherever free inventory space exists.

This flexibility lets you rearrange pieces to suit the current situation, influencing how items interact with one another and affecting overall combat effectiveness.

  • Leave empty cells in the inventory to experiment with different rotations.
  • Group items whose auras complement each other when possible.

03 / THE GUIDE

Item Auras and Build Synergy

Items gain extra power when they affect each other. Certain pieces emit auras that boost weapons or armor located in adjacent cells, making placement a strategic consideration.

Even a single‑cell shift can modify the entire build, so small adjustments may produce noticeable changes in strength.

  • Move items one cell at a time to observe how auras change.
  • Prioritise aura‑bearing items that enhance your primary weapon.

04 / THE GUIDE

Companions and Their Abilities

During combat you issue commands only to the main hero; companions act independently based on their own programming. Their behavior does not require direct input from the player.

Each ally also possesses its own equipment set, which you organise separately from the hero’s gear, allowing you to influence their effectiveness indirectly.

  • Watch how companions respond in early fights to anticipate their actions later.
  • Equip allies with items that reinforce the strengths they already display.

05 / THE GUIDE

Final Guardian Construction

When a biome ends you choose one of two offered boss parts. Each selection changes the Guardian’s visual design and its combat power.

After all biomes are cleared, the assembled Guardian becomes the final boss you must defeat to complete the run.

  • Compare the power impact of each part before committing.
  • Consider how the accumulated parts will affect the final encounter.
