About Loddlenaut
Loddlenaut drops you onto the alien ocean world GUP-14, where the waste of a mega-corporation has left the seas murky, oily, and littered with junk. As an interstellar custodian, your job is to clear the pollution, revive the planet's ecosystems, and piece together the story of the inhabitants who came before.
Along the way you befriend axolotl-like creatures called loddles, raise them, and watch them grow in different directions depending on what they eat. The game blends open-world exploration, creature care, and recycling into a colorful cleanup adventure; the Steam listing notes single-player play and full controller support.
01 / THE GUIDE
Ocean Cleanup Gameplay
The core loop centers on a bubble gun that clears goop and floating debris from polluted waters. Cleaning an area reveals sunken remnants of GUPPI's buildings, ships, and machinery, along with clues about the planet's past inhabitants.
Trash you collect can be recycled into useful items and upgrades, and special gadgets can be unlocked to handle different kinds of ocean pollution. This ties cleanup directly to progression: the more you clear, the better equipped you become to tackle the remaining mess.
- Clear debris that blocks access to sunken ruins first, since those sites hold story clues about GUPPI.
- Recycle materials steadily rather than hoarding them, so your toolkit keeps pace with new pollution types.

Raising and Evolving Loddles
As you clean, you will encounter loddles, axolotl-like aliens that need protection from the dirty water. Feeding them aquatic fruits helps them grow, and their diet shapes how they develop, producing unique traits and abilities suited to surviving a polluted planet.
Once a loddle is strong enough and the surrounding water is cleaner, you can release it back into the wild and watch it thrive. The Loddlepedia update adds a way to track evolutions you have discovered and see which ones remain, alongside new personality traits and biome diversity ratings.
- Vary the fruits you offer a loddle to explore different growth paths and trait combinations.
- Use the Loddlepedia as a checklist to see which evolutions you have not yet found.

Gadgets and Crafting System
Beyond the bubble gun, you can unlock special gadgets designed for cleaning specific pollution types. Crafting draws on recycled trash, so environmental work and equipment improvement reinforce each other.
The Goddles update also introduces gold versions of your tools, earned by completing different milestones. Reaching those milestones ultimately unlocks a modified ending cutscene, giving long-term goals beyond day-to-day cleanup.
- Craft tools that match the pollution you encounter most often before chasing specialized gadgets.
- Keep milestone requirements in mind as you play, since finishing them yields gold tools and an altered ending.

Goddles Update Content
The Goddles update expands the planet with three new caves, each hiding a lost loddle with a rare cosmetic mutation. It also adds Goddle Grotto, a secret sixth biome that is home to three mythical Goddles for players who delve deep enough.
A gardening system lets you collect seedlings and grow your own flora, increasing each biome's resistance to pollution. Supporting features include a Global Pollution Tracker for locating pollutants and an Inventory Capacity Module that expands your backpack.
- Search the three new caves early to find the rare mutated loddles they contain.
- Plant flora to raise a biome's pollution resistance, which keeps cleaned areas healthier over time.
