About Lobotomy Corporation | Monster Management Simulation

Lobotomy Corporation is a single‑player, roguelite monster‑management simulation where you act as the Manager of a newly founded energy company. You contain strange beings called Abnormalities, assign employees to work with them, and harvest the energy they generate.

Each in‑game day ends with a visual story segment featuring dialogue with the AI Angela and the entity Sephirot. These scenes gradually reveal hidden truths about the corporation, the Abnormalities, and the Manager’s role.

01 / THE GUIDE

Abnormalities

Abnormalities are the creatures kept in containment units. They can produce energy when handled correctly, but each possesses unique behaviours that may lead to breaches or corrupt employees if mishandled.

When you first encounter an Abnormality you have no data; the manual, visual cues, and audio hints are your only sources of information, so you must experiment to discover which work type is safest.

  • Observe visual and audio cues before assigning any work.
  • Consult the in‑game manual for each new Abnormality.

02 / THE GUIDE

Employee Management

Employees perform the tasks you assign to Abnormalities. Their condition after work influences future assignments, as damaged staff can become eroded, corrupted, brain‑washed, or insane.

Corrupted or insane employees may attack others, ignore orders, or spread trauma, which can quickly destabilise the facility and increase the risk of further disasters.

  • Check each employee’s status after a work cycle.
  • Remove or replace staff showing signs of corruption or insanity.

03 / THE GUIDE

Energy Harvesting & Facility Expansion

The daily objective is to meet an energy quota by extracting power from Abnormalities. Successful extraction lets you unlock new departments, which broaden the range of creatures you can manage.

Unlocking additional departments improves overall efficiency, making it easier to maintain stable operations while continuing to harvest energy.

  • Prioritise work that yields sufficient energy without triggering incidents.
  • Consider expanding departments after you have stabilised current operations.

04 / THE GUIDE

Disaster Response

If an Abnormality breaches, it attacks every employee in sight and can disrupt facility systems, potentially opening other containment units and causing cascading threats.

Immediate response—gathering employees to suppress the breach—is required; failure to act quickly allows the situation to spiral into full‑scale chaos.

  • Act quickly to isolate a breached unit.
  • Deploy enough staff to suppress the threat before it spreads.

05 / THE GUIDE

Story Segments

After each management day, a visual story segment plays, featuring dialogue with the AI Angela and the entity Sephirot. These scenes advance the narrative and provide context for the corporation’s purpose.

Listening to the dialogue reveals clues about upcoming Abnormalities and deeper secrets about the company, the Manager, and the world surrounding Lobotomy Corporation.

  • Pay close attention to dialogue for hints about future Abnormalities.
  • Note any new information that may affect your management decisions.
