About Letter Quest: Grimm's Journey Remastered
Letter Quest: Grimm's Journey Remastered asks players to help the grim reapers Grimm and Rose defeat monsters by spelling words in a turn‑based RPG. The remake adds high‑resolution art, a new soundtrack, and a built‑in dictionary of over 192,000 English words that validates every entry.

01 / THE GUIDE
Endless Mode
Endless Mode lets you pick background art, music, character, weapon, and letter tiles before a single, unending battle sequence begins. The mode challenges you to see how long you can survive, separate from the story quests.
Combat in Endless Mode follows the same turn‑based word‑building system as the main campaign: you form words from letter tiles to attack monsters, but there is no predefined quest line, so the focus is on endurance and maximizing damage each turn.
- Experiment with different tile sets to see which produce longer words more consistently.
- Choose a soundtrack that stays steady; familiar music can help maintain concentration during long runs.

Word Battle Mechanics
Battles are turn‑based; you type letters to build words from a pool of tiles to attack monsters, and tooltips appear during combat.
A built‑in dictionary of over 192,000 English words validates every entry, meaning any recognized word can be used in combat without needing external word lists.
- Watch the tooltips for letter‑specific bonuses before committing a word.
- When high‑value letters are scarce, prioritize shorter words that still meet the dictionary’s criteria.

Upgrade System
Gems earned from battles can be spent in an animated shop to purchase upgrades, books, special items, and potions. These purchases affect combat performance, allowing you to tailor offense, defense, or utility as you progress.
All purchases are optional; you may mix and match upgrades to suit personal preferences, and the shop’s visual feedback confirms each transaction.
- If damage feels low, consider upgrades that increase word length or letter value.
- Balancing offensive items with defensive potions can smooth out tougher encounters.

Input Options
The remaster supports full keyboard input: type letters to add them to the current word, use backspace to delete, and customize all hot‑key bindings in the options menu. No mouse‑only requirement is imposed.
Touch support works on touchscreen laptops and devices such as the Microsoft Surface Pro, allowing swipes to scroll lists and the map, making the game fully playable without a mouse.
- Set custom key bindings that match your typing habits for faster word entry.
- On touch devices, use swipe gestures to navigate menus quickly.

Achievements & Leaderboards
Letter Quest Remastered includes 60 Steam achievements, eight of which were added in the remaster. Achievements track in-game milestones.
Steam Leaderboards record player performance, letting you compare scores with others. The game also supports Steam Cloud for saving progress across supported platforms.
- Review achievement descriptions early to target the easiest milestones first.
- After an Endless run, check the leaderboards to see where your score ranks among peers.
