About Kingdom Two Crowns
Kingdom Two Crowns places you in the saddle as a ruler developing and defending a medieval settlement. This side-scrolling adventure combines recruiting people, establishing farms and building fortifications with the task of keeping your crown safe. Your enemies are the Greed, creatures intent on taking the kingdom's wealth.
Construction and exploration support the fight for survival. Search forests and ruins outside your borders for discoveries that can help your kingdom, then face the nighttime attacks. Military units, siege equipment, ruler abilities and artifacts contribute to defense, while assaults on the enemy's source offer a way to secure islands.
A second player can join as another Monarch. The free Shogun and Dead Lands updates introduce additional settings and characters, while Challenge Islands provide five scenarios whose particular objectives and rules change the challenge.

Building and Expansion
Farms contribute to prosperity, recruited villagers populate the settlement, and walls with towers provide protection. Developing the kingdom also opens access to further technology and units. Consider how economic growth and defenses support one another rather than treating expansion as an isolated goal.
Leaving the safety of the settlement is another part of development. Forests and ruins contain opportunities to find valuable objects, knowledge and encounters with mythical beings. Those discoveries give exploration a purpose alongside the work of construction.
- Establish farms early so your economy can support later growth and defenses.
- Scout beyond the walls during daylight to find relics and ruins before nightfall.

Nightly Defenses
The Greed attacks after dark, and the description emphasizes an increasing challenge across successive nights. Your defensive resources include archers and knights, siege equipment, artifacts and abilities acquired by the Monarch. Prepare the settlement with that range of options in mind.
Defense is not the only objective: rulers can send soldiers against the enemy's source. The store stresses having enough troops and preparing them before an assault. Consider your forces' readiness before switching from protecting the settlement to attacking.
- Balance your army between ranged units like archers and melee forces like knights before committing to an assault.
- Only attack the Greed's source once your troop count and equipment are ready for a prolonged clash.

Co-op Play
Cooperative play gives two people the roles of Monarchs in the kingdom. They can take part in its development and protection together, making it useful to discuss which tasks each person wants to handle.
The store lists Online Co-op and Shared/Split Screen Co-op, and Remote Play Together is also supported, giving several ways to team up with a second Monarch.
- Agree in advance which player handles expansion while the other focuses on defenses.
- Split night responsibilities so both Monarchs cover different parts of the kingdom.

Free Content Updates
The Shogun update draws on feudal Japanese settings, including bamboo forests. Its rulers include the Shogun and Onna-bugeisha; ninja units and the Kirin mount add further options for confronting the Greed.
Dead Lands draws on Bloodstained for gothic characters such as Miriam. Its mounts include a trap-producing beetle, an undead horse associated with barriers and Gamigin, whose attack is a charge. Challenge Islands instead concentrates on five scenarios with their own objectives and rule changes. The listing also points to additional downloadable content.
- Experiment with each update's unique Monarchs and mounts to find strategies that suit your playstyle.
- Use Challenge Islands to test how far your kingdom-building skills can stretch under unusual rules.
