About Kingdom of Night
In 1987, a satanic cult in Miami, Arizona inadvertently summons the ancient evil Baphomet, plunging the town into a night of demonic chaos. Players assume the role of John, who awakens to a neighbor’s kidnapping and must battle through the invasion to rescue friends before dawn.
The game mixes action, adventure, and RPG elements. It offers full controller support, a Keyboard Only Option, and a split‑screen local co‑op mode, letting players explore the whole town, customize a class, and collect gear while confronting Demon Generals in any order.
01 / THE GUIDE
Choose Your Class
Five distinct classes—Barbarian, Knight, Rogue, Necromancer, and Sorcerer—are available, each establishing a different base play style. Selecting a class determines your base style and influences early combat decisions.
Each class features three skill‑tree branches with ten talents each. After reaching level 10 in a branch, players may invest points in another branch, allowing mixed‑branch builds that further refine the chosen play style.
- Try a secondary branch after the first ten levels to broaden tactical options.
- Match the class’s base strengths to the types of enemies you expect early in the town.

Gear and Loot
Equipment is obtained through quest rewards, hidden items, and random drops from a multi‑tiered loot system with variable drop rates. Items range from common to completely unique, affecting character stats and granting special abilities.
Collecting gear adds a layer to character development; each piece contributes to overall power and can complement the talents chosen in the skill trees.
- Explore hidden locations for unique items that may not appear in standard drops.
- Balance gear upgrades with skill point allocation for steady stat growth.

Players may approach Demon Generals in any order, giving freedom to decide which threats to tackle first while uncovering more of the town’s lore.
- Talk to as many NPCs as possible to reveal hidden quests and lore clues.
- Plan routes that balance combat encounters with story moments.

Local Co‑op
Kingdom of Night supports local split‑screen co‑op, letting a second player join the campaign as a partner class. Together, players can combine abilities to confront tougher enemies and Demon Lords.
Co‑op does not replace the single‑player experience; the campaign remains fully playable with John alone, offering flexibility for different play sessions.
- Pair classes with complementary strengths, such as a Knight with a Sorcerer, for balanced offense and defense.
- Coordinate your approach to Demon Generals to maximize combined damage.

Adjustable Difficulty & Audio
Players can modify the game’s difficulty to suit their skill level, ensuring challenges remain engaging throughout the night. Difficulty can be adjusted to keep the challenge engaging throughout the night.
Audio options include custom volume controls and stereo sound, allowing fine‑tuning of ambient cues that signal nearby threats.
- Start on a moderate difficulty to gauge combat pacing before adjusting.
- Use custom volume controls to emphasize environmental sounds that hint at enemy locations.
