About Kaze and the Wild Masks
Kaze and the Wild Masks is a single‑player platformer that takes you across the Crystal Islands in a style reminiscent of 1990s classics. You guide Kaze as he tries to rescue his friend Hogo from a curse that has turned the islands chaotic.
The game offers more than 30 main levels and over 50 bonus stages, each built with high‑quality frame‑by‑frame pixel art. By wearing the Wild Masks you can gain animal powers—tiger, eagle, lizard and shark—to overcome obstacles and hostile, animated vegetables.
01 / THE GUIDE
Wild Mask Powers
The Wild Masks provide four animal abilities: a tiger’s ferocious pounce, an eagle’s soaring flight, a lizard’s swift sprint, and a shark’s command of water. Each ability is triggered during gameplay by invoking the corresponding mask.
These powers let you reach high platforms, cross wide gaps, move quickly through tight corridors, or navigate watery sections that would otherwise be impassable. Selecting the appropriate mask for each challenge is a core part of the level design.
- Try each mask early in a level to learn its range and timing.
- Observe which obstacles repeatedly require the same mask and plan your route accordingly.

Level Structure
The Crystal Islands contain more than 30 primary levels, each presenting classic platforming hazards such as moving platforms, spikes, and the enraged living vegetables described in the premise.
Beyond the main stages, the game adds over 50 bonus levels that extend replay value and let you practice mask abilities in a more relaxed setting.
- Notice recurring platform patterns to anticipate which mask will be needed next.
- Use bonus levels as a low‑stakes environment to refine difficult jumps.

Pixel Art Style
Kaze and the Wild Masks uses high‑quality, frame‑by‑frame pixel art that evokes the look of classic 90s platformers while keeping animation smooth and readable.
The visual design also provides clear cues—such as color and shape—that indicate which mask ability will be most effective against a given obstacle or enemy.
- Watch enemy animations to decide which mask to switch to.
- Pay attention to background details that hint at hidden paths.

Full Controller Support
The title lists full controller support, meaning the game can be played with a supported controller. This matches the typical control scheme of platformers where movement and actions are mapped to analog sticks and buttons.
All mask abilities and menu navigation are accessible through controller inputs, allowing players who prefer handheld or console‑style play to experience the game without needing a keyboard.
- Spend a few minutes in the menu to locate the button assigned to each mask.
- Practice activating each mask repeatedly to gauge response timing on your controller.

Steam Features
Kaze and the Wild Masks integrates several Steam services: achievements record milestones, Steam Cloud is among the listed features, and Family Sharing lets multiple accounts use a single purchase.
These features operate independently of the core gameplay, providing optional goals alongside the main adventure.
- Review the achievement list to discover optional challenges that use specific masks.
- Confirm Cloud sync is enabled in Steam settings to keep your progress safe.
